Sometimes I can get near to fainting when I'm walking in the street and I think it's blood vessels constricting caused by low oestrogen. I have had the worst inner ear issues and doctors did not have a clue why so sent me for a brain/ear scan! I'm a few years in perimenopause and I'd have to lie to my doctor to get an increased dose in my HRT, I'd have to say I have increase in the most common symptoms as they do not recognise the many other symptoms.

Hello Dr Louise. I was one of those women who got their HRT in perimenopause ten years ago, and got more symptoms. I am now balancing my HRT, with Newson Health, as it goes, as the NHS thought my T levels were normal and no prescription for it. They gave me more oestrogen. I am just scared of what the lack of hormones, or insufficiency of them, have caused damage. I got a bit freaked out about the blood pressure and thinning arteries but it's taken this to open my eyes and I really appreciate your education and. your tireless work to educate about the menopause/perimenopause.

What are your thoughts on pulsing progesterone? Some say it is better even in menopause not peri-menopause. Because of its effects on the down regulation on estrogen and testosterone???

After determining that my myriad symptoms are, in fact, thanks to menopause I was told that I could not be given any hormone treatment due to having fibromuscular dysplasia. Various specialists worry that taking HRT will trigger SCAD. Taking oral contraception in my 20s likely was the trigger for spontaneous renal dissection. So I’m left with all these Meno symptoms, including crippling insomnia which is new to me, but no clear path for treatment. I cannot be the only one who needs help without hormones. I do recall you mentioning to Jeremy London that there were clinical trials for HRT and SCAD. Any results yet?

The oral contraceptive is artificial hormones. The current hormones given during menopause are body identical and a lot safer.

@ I am very aware of that, but thank you for your input. Unfortunately, fibromuscular dysplasia can be triggered by any variety of hormones: natural, synthetic, bio-identical or phyto. My aim is to treat my menopause symptoms without causing any more spontaneous dissections and especially not a SCAD. I had to have stents put in when a standard angiogram caused an RCA dissection.

The itching of inside of the ears... that is the weirdest one I have heard about ( and experienced!)... I had forgotten that estradiol & progesterone have an important role in iron absorption. Thank you. I am in the early stages of attempting to correct a severe vitamin D & iron deficiency, amongst hormone deficiencies...

Thank you for all the videos 🙏 I have been prescribed Prasterone but am scared to use it as I have read that it can cause abnormal pap smears plus it is a fairly recent product with not many studies. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Östrogen and progesterone are usually prescribed together. Certainly the new NICE recommendations say GP’s should give both hormones together. Often adding testosterone later too.

I've yet to find a dr that has a clue about my burning face syndrome...what I call it. Since menopause I get burning feelings in cheeks, forehead, neck, while the rest of my body is normal or cold. It's 24-7 for days or weeks at a time. I can't sit in the sun, or a warm room, no matter how cold my body is, cause my head will feel like its burning and i'll nearly faint from overheating. Been on HRT a few years, hasn't helped. Is there something with blood vessel function that is wrong? I just want some explanation.
