In today's episode my dad's F12 BMW 640i gets a royal treatment containing a full paint correction and ceramic coating. I also change the N55’s waterpump and high pressure fuel sensor.

I have friends from Belgium and I noticed, people there are more " controled" when showing the emotions but we can see his dad was happy and proud. I always say they are like the Vulcans in Star Trek and they laugh lol

@@organiccold Dad son relations, especially with dads his age don't really show the love in an emotional way, more in actions than anything, at least that's what I noticed as a Belgian. With younger dads I feel like they have an easier time expressing their love. That being said I wouldn't say we're the weird ones, seeing americans bawling or screaming OMG to basic life surprises is always a weird thing to see.

Hello, first congratulations for all your job for all of your project.... I'm not expert in BMW but i thing is maybe good to change the fuel filter and check the pump inside the fuel tank if we ave one. I ave the same problems on VW and here is not in off fuel coming in high pressure pump and this one start to cavitate... the problems is increased when the tank is almost empty or when you put full gaz. Sorry for my bad English.

nice job and a good trick with the paper towels. For Glass i suggest a window cleaner + magic eraser every so often. Magic erasers are ever so slightly abraisive so they lift off the water marks externally. They also lift off the vapours that leak out of the plastics / leather protectants on the dashboard that stick to the inside of the windscreen. if your inside windscreen surface is streaky no matter what you do 9/10 it will be vapours. 👍

Great one Memphis. For the fuel issues, remove the pump and check the tappet for wear, between it and the camshaft it has a tappet just like the ones for the valves, it can wear out and cause issues, the pump should also be more noisy.

Next time you do one of those water pumps, take off the sway bar instead of the fan shroud. Not only will it come right out, you’ll have more room at the bolts.

That's a nice car! I actually have similar F12 here in Spain - even the year is same, 2011 (2012 model year). 82.000 kms, no significant problems yet, but I too have occiasional idle issues after starting up, but usually they clear after the first minute of driving.

Awesome video. Regarding the fuel pump issue, there might be another culprit for fuel pressure not reaching the target: the PCV or pressure control valve. It sits directly in the rail and is the one that dictates the pressure of the fuel system. It might also be that the pump simply kicked the bucket, but it might worth checking the PCV (it should also cost far less than the pump).

Great video really enjoyed it! quick tip - always spray wheel cleaner (iron remover like you used) on a DRY wheel, then rinse off and only then apply a bit more and agitate with a brush:) that way you avoid diluting the cleaner... Also really important for next time at least - always polish with a fine finishing polish and foam pad after the compound step, only then apply any protection such as a ceramic coating... so much gloss and shine is achieved at this finishing polishing step:)

Lovely work, a nice polish is so satisfying on dark colored cars. The rims are also very nice, good taste on your dad's side! :D The result looks amazing, as a fellow BMW (N20B20 F30) driver I really appreciate content on underappreciated N-motor and F-series chassis cars. :)

Great job on the cleaning! I would suggest to get a good convertible cleaner and a brush, you would be surprised how much dirt is embeded in the convertible top. Using a proper water repellent afterwards would be a cherry on top 👌

Btw, if you wish to get rid of those whitish marks on black plastic on the boot lid (where the convertible top wings sit), I can recommend Cerakote trim coat wipes. I had the same problem and they vanished with Cerakote. I applied it 4-5 months ago and it still looks very presentable. I ordered my kit from Amazon US, at the time I couldn't find them in EU.

Awesome video! Please make sure you check that sensor, ive had to change mine and even gutten tight alowed it to leak, need to cut in new threads basically… but anyway yeah well done! With regards to the fuel pump, also had this, if the limp mode is accomodated by a yellow half engine light, then the fuel pump is your issue, dont go with refurbished units, go with a new one and save yourself a headache!

Also a good idea would be to polish the exhaust tips mate, makes a lot of difference when looking at the rear of the car :) you can use Meguiar's NXT metal polish, work great!

Hi, great video. Try to finish the windows with wiping with a newspaper ( not with color paper) - the black color of the print helps to remove all strips. I use this methode since years and it works perfect. Good Luck!

Hey Memphis, great video again! Regarding the pump not being able to reach the desired pressure might be a problem related to algea growth in the fuel lines. I don't know how often the car is driven, but using fuels with more bio-ethanol while the car not being driven much increases the risk of algea formation in the fuel lines. This can (partially) block the fuel pump or makes it more difficult to generate the pressure desired by the engine. A possible solution is to rinse the fuel lines by using a special fuel additive to prevent and remove algea. I hope this gives you another perspective on the possible problem! Cheers

Nice vid, bmw have all water pump problems on 6 cyl engines, i changed 2 times the pump on my ex z4 n54, first owner at 58k km, then i changed it at 66k km, then sold to a friend, after 3k km next pump....(the last one was an upgraded pierburg full alu - no plastic) and had the shortest lifetime. what good in this pain in the but, is that u have a water level warning indicator that prevent u from destroying the engine. good luck with bmw, but except the old ones, their econ maintenance policy is a creapy since a while.

Check injectors, they had many revisions, they may be leaking. They may cause problems on cold start and during high fuel demand.

Looks really good. Just quick tip never apply leather cleaner directly on leather. Put it on the brush and clean smaller section of the seat. :)

on my N55 535i it was a factory recall on fuel pumps and BMW Dealer replaced mine for free, you can call your near BMW dealer and mention the issue and ask if it is included in the factory recall, i am from EU

wederom een erg vermakelijke video Memphis; dank daarvoor! Utimate ocmpund is inderdaad een prima one-step product voor dit soort lakdefecten. Een kleine maar zeer belangrijke tip voor de volgende keer dat je een coating aanbrengt: de lak dient vooraf te worden ontvet, in dit geval was Gyeon Prep het product dat je eigenlijk had moeten gebruiken voordat je de coating aanbrengt. Daarmee verleng je de standtijd van de coating aanzienlijk. Ik vrees dat de coating nu veel minder lang zijn werking zal behouden. Keep up the good work, ik kijk uit naar je volgende video!

De Glassfoam die je gebruikt is zuurvrij dus kan je op meer ondergronden gebruiken. je kan er ook zeer goed je stuur mee schoon en gematteerd krijgen. Wel natuurlijk ook met je detailbrush bewerken.
