If you're fitting a new full exhaust, Please look up the O2 sensor placement guide. The way you have it mounted right now can cause water vapour to get into the sensor and break it. This plus having it unpowered will probably be the COD for your previous one.

Fantastic video Memphis!! This demonstrates perfectly that even with ‘only’ 120bhp on tap, a light vehicle driven extremely well will give amazing results… providing the exhaust hangs on 😂. Really love your driving style, brilliant humour and ever growing knowledge. So happy you got over COVID and are feeling better 👏🥳🙏🏻

The wideband in your car should only be turned on about 20s after the engine is running. If not it will start preheating the sensor and small droplets of cold water could hit and crack the ceramic filament and it will break again. You could use a timed relay to prevent this.

Awesome!!! I run a Milltek exhaust on my Mk1 and it's not annoying at all. It's a resonated system so it's not any louder than stock. Okay maybe a bit on full throttle...

You'll really want to mount that o2-sensor where your headers go from 2-to-1 (~20'' after the block or 36'' after a turbo). Exhaust-temps help heat the element efficiently and a good power-source will keep them (hi-bank/lo-bank) from getting fouled... ...then convert to EFI, because you're basically there already.😉

Hi from uk memphis 👋👍 what a great way to test the built engine and it performed well too 👌 and if exhaust weld is only only thing that happened then so be it but better to slow down cos if you say hit carrousel and snapped it could of caused a lot of damage I feel as it would of dropped more not just hanging but yeah you did well too mate and once your more confident in the track you'll be super 👌 thanks for your time be safe and see you soon 👍👋

9:08 This car in Brazil is called voyage, a derivative of the famous goal, which uses an AP 1.6 to 2.0 8v engine just like your golf, just changed R.L of the piston. Today in Brazil we use a product called FUELTECH that helps a lot in the management of injection, eliminating the original ecu where you can create a custom map!. I love your works.

I was hanging out for another episode on the SAAB, but this was a great way to spend a boring Wednesday Winter evening in Australia. I'm looking forward to more content from you especially on the SAAB or Greta! Can you provide a list of cities your drove through from Belgium to Bavaria ( I can just dream of that in my part of the world)?

Sensationeel !!!!

You should definately add an aftermarket exhaust with a long tube 4-1 header! I drive a 2.0 8V as well in my MK2 Scirocco, and it really benefitted the engine. I can recommend the Novus Gruppe A exhaust with a Powersprint header. My 2.0 produces 130hp in combination with a 272 degree cam and no modification to the ECU whatsoever, so I'm still running the stock injection. And, as a bonus, the exhaus won't rot away soon anymorre ;)
@adamv2422 жыл бұрын
Your content never disappoints, Memphis. Those epic road trips and parking lot repairs are exactly what my friends and I were doing in the mid-late-90s with the same cars. Only I never got to drive my A1 Jetta, A2 Golf or Scirocco 16v on the Nürburgring!

Can you put performance exhaust on the golf in Belgium? I am not sure what the regulations are there. If you can install performance exhaust, you may want to consider a good header and high flow 2.5" exhaust. Great video!!!

The same thing happened to my Alfa Romeo 75 there in 2008. I was wearing a crash helmet so I didn't know about it until I started the car without it on. Luckily there was an undertray that kept it off the ground but my journey home was 550 miles to Wales so around 10 hours of driving. My wife was not impressed.

Great video, very enjoyable to watch. the variety of cars on your trip was awesome. The E34 5 series looks fantastic, and is a simple yet handsome design, especially compared with the vulgar beaver-teeth styling BMW are making today. Can’t wait to get on a road trip again. Hard luck with the broken exhaust, at least it’s an easy fix!

"breaking" your engine, I think you can be proud on the build quality of the mods you did on your car if this little hickup was you only issue. If I see the buffeting in the sloped corners I am surprised that nothing els broke. You work on your cars to have a good time with them and that is exactly what you had that weekend! so kudos!!!
