Grace, your parents are to be commended for doing parenting right. It's such a joy to see a household of adult siblings who get along well with each other and their parents. Christmas can be stressful when you're an adult because you feel more obligated to be with family then actually joyful about it. You have a lovely family and that's because of the way you were raised.

My mum does this every year for her birthday; July 25 for her friends and their families, she collects all her take home Christmas gifts, crackers, pudding and extra decor in the Jan Christmas sales-it is so much fun. She has a real tree in a big pot and brings it in each July. Makes more sense to eat hot food when it is cold and save the seafood, salad and watermelon for our Hot Aussie xmas's. Glad you did it to especially this year. Merry mid year Christmas.

What atheist like to manipulate is the winter solstice which is on the 21st, Christmas is the 25th two different dates. Well Christmas in July isn’t technically real Christmas so you could celebrate it and call it something else. 😂 Also I think these days Christmas is (for a lot of people) less about religion. I know people from different religions celebrate Christmas Day in the U.K. and do a lot of he traditions (big family meal, Christmas crackers, playing games, exchanging gifts). My family is not religious but we enjoy Christmas- for us it’s more about spending time with family and sharing traditions.
