We have the right coaches defensively who don’t have the right type of players for their scheme or the type of dogs they need to succeed. Just look at the guys they have committed in the next class, so don’t fret it will get better just have patience, our defense will be better.

I mean it’s already better. While there were some bust plays, there were a lot of times the defense stiffened up when put in a bad position. They aren’t great but they are objectively better coached than last year. Hopefully they keep improving

I do think Kelly seems to not have the ability to assess his players. Why was Harold Perkins moved to and from inside backer, 2 years in a row. I’ve said from the beginning he should be strong safety or star. Then you can use him with more versatility. He’s not big enough for inside backer. He’s a speed guy. Another example last year Mason Smith was not performing and stayed as starter. I think Blake Baker is better than MH but, still why couldn’t they have known who should play what position before the season. Les Miles wasn’t a great coach, but his teams never had such problems.

@@victorbernard1256 I think the staff has had trouble evaluating talent in general, particularly in the transfer portal, but overall Mason Smith never played the same after his knee injury but still gave you something that none of the other tackles had - double teams. I think last year he had one of the highest rates of being double teamed on the dline. Perkins hasn't played much linebacker and was mostly a RB in highschool. They eased him in as an edge rusher and after freshman year he requested to be moved to an off ball linebacker because thats where he projects size wise in the NFL. When you lack depth and injuries compound on those issues, you have to move people around

That call happens 100 out of a 100 times on Saturday or Sunday. The quarterback is protected, that was basically a crack back block, he just used his hands instead of his shoulder. Same with the horse collar, they grab up around the name plate, it's gonna draw the flag.

I’m going to be honest, South Carolina fans are the worse sore losers ever. They just can’t come to grips with fact they lost. The funny thing is their team actually played a great game. They committed crucial penalties but overall a great effort. But the fan base must all be true losers, really thinking they’re going to get LSU investigated for winning a game. LSU has NEVER lost at their stadium, for good reason we were always the better team. They’re a lower half SEC program aspiring to get better. Beamer is actually a good coach. But, the fact is they’ve never won an SEC title and won’t this year. I am willing to compliment their teams effort but really the sore loser cry baby fans are the most obnoxious in the land. SEC should consider kicking them out of the conference and picking up Clemson.

First you need to understand what you see on the field before quoting the rules. He didn't leap into the gap. He literally went up and leaned over an Offensive lineman before crashing down in the backfield. It fits the rule, now we don't cry about calls made that hurt drives for LSU or helped SC because it happened. SC fans are literally crying about every call as if they didn't do what was called. Yall had a 17-0 lead, you need to cry about your players and coach blowing that lead. The better and correct team won the game and that includes the penalties called and missed.

All the Nuss bus fans kept insulting people that said he wasn't better than JD5, and those same fans are now witnessing why he was a work in progress and not starting material. Every game he has had more than enough room to run some, especially when we all see the defenses aren't even respecting him enough to do so, and that's why the run game has been anemic up until today with Durham having a good game! Either find a way to incorporate some QB runs, or put Ricky Collins in some dual threat packages to alleviate the ends just crashing down. Also Wik Weeks is Hella good, but his tendency to crash inside and not understanding read assignments got LSU burn for two long runs for td's, and Sage Ryan can't tackle to save his life😮‍💨! If LSU fans, and Kelly ( whom I said would be a championship Caliber coach by year 4 ), didn't think having inexperienced OC's was going to cost us this year then you don't know football! JD5 made that line look better than it is, and it is showing that his scrambling abilities were very much instrumental in their success! That SC defense showed that they have to get better because there are wayyyyy better defenses on the way, and with no QB willing to run some....it's going to be a long season.
