As impressive as this game is, the draw with nodirbek I think is much more impressive. Gukesh kept finding resources in a clearly worse position that everyone thought to be a loss including magnus himself, and drew it by making the position so complicated that only engines can beat him in that position. The winning sequence is so inhuman to find that I think magnus in his peak will not be able to find it given the time situation

Why do we not have Elo decay in chess rankings? Gukesh, the World Champion, is now clearly streets ahead of Hikaru - a guy who isn't even playing classical - and yet he's still rated below him. It's a bit of a joke really when the Elo list, which is pretty much used as substitution for World Rankings cannot provide an accurate reflection of player strengths.

Agadmator, would you consider some improvements to your interface? (1) Swap the photos with the names and (2) move them to the top/bottom of the board for some separation, and (3) change the outline around the player with the black pieces from white to black so that it’s easier to tell which player is playing each color and which side of the board they started from. Thanks so much. Great channel! #suggestion

Don't get me wrong, Magnus is a former 5x Classical World Champion, but he got really serious competition from the younger generation like Gukesh, Pragg, Abdusattorov, Keymer and Erigaisi I would say. Five young players who are out for blood from the older players. I am most excited to see what will happen next.

Gukesh has clearly figured out a way to use time as a strategic depth its not always just putting pressure on time short .sometimes he even bores the hell out of opponents by grinding them through a dead game and then forcing them to do a mistake. People say he got lucky to a blunder,.i dont think so, You cant get lucky every second game. He has mastered the art of getting into the psyche of an opponent and use the situation to force errors. This is an unusual skill in a chess game, you would expect these skills in physical sports like cricket, badminton (he plays both).

#suggestion When you have the "Find the move" moment, after the pause, don't reveal the move right away. Instead, share one or two other options and why they may/may not work. And then reveal the best move. Just a small tweak to extend the suspense for 10 secs more. And also to learn 🙂 Because at 6:52, why not Nxg7 first rather than the Queen move? The pin still works anyway?
