Surprising Treasures at a 1910 House!

A great hunt at a house built in 1910 turns up the usual assortment of great finds, but also some unexpected treasures! Hope you enjoy it!

My ‘standard’ settings for the Legend in suburban yards:
Field Mode
All Metal
6 tone, with 1-10 volume turned down low. I want to hear the iron but not have it drown out everything else.
Sensitivity turned to 25-27 depending on interference
Recovery speed 5 - I turn that a little lower if the ground is ‘clean’, and turn it up a little if there are a lot of junk targets
Iron filter 8 - if there’s a lot of small iron in the ground I might turn it down to 5 or 6
I grid the yard left to right in 10 kHz, then turn and grid the other way in Multi1
Dig it all!
I previously used the Garrett Ace 300 and the Garrett “carrot” pinpointer. Suitable for beginners but the NoktaMakro equipment has performed much better.
Thinking of getting into the hobby? I really recommend contacting a metal detecting dealer, either a store in your area or an online detecting specialist. They can definitely match your budget with the right equipment for you. I don’t recommend buying equipment online from other sales sites (Amazon, Etsy, EBay, etc) since you can’t be sure of what you’re getting. Trust in a reputable dealer. Great hunt a few silveres and a nice old bell and large cent i have never found a large cent

Great Hunt there. Congrats on the 1845 Copper, 1917 Mercury Dime, Silver Rosie and Quarter Congrats on the V Nickles. Love the one that was shot. My 2 Best Coins I found shot was a Barber Dime and a 1960 Penny perfectly shot through the middle. Congrats on the possible Reale and Silver Links. Love the Bell. Take Care

That silver looks like a three cent piece. I could almost see a star on one side and the C on the reverse.

I've seen a video where someone used silver testing acid on a wiped coin to bring out details. Wear gloves, leave the acid on for a minute or so, dip in water, and let it dry. It does stain the coin, but I think some lemon juice will return it to its original look.

I did try that a while back on a slick SLQ to see if it would bring out the date. Didn't work for me, I suppose it might depend on how worn down it is.
