I have not read all the comments but it seems a lot of "spicy" foods appear in southern regions of the world. Chilies grow better in those climates and people tend to not just enjoy it but it cools the body off in hotter climates. I grew up in the North of USA but I love spice. Some people consume it just to prove something . Different chilies have distinct flavors not just heat.
@DedoAglar3 жыл бұрын
I think that derives from a question of necessity: the foods in hot regions were more difficult to keep, they went bad early and, a little to eliminate bad tastes and smells, a little to eliminate a lot of bacteria, they used heavy chilli

It’s actually a very nice process! My grandma does it as well! She grows her own peperoncini, and when there’s enough she takes a needle and some thick thread, and she basically saws the chili together. She hangs them and lets them sun dry, when they’re completely dry, you blitz them in a food processor till they’re a very fine powder! She also makes them into a spicy oil, but I’ve got no idea how she does that 😂 even though that’s my favorite

@@RM-se2nw Chili oil is very easy to make: dry any type of hot peppers you like. I use chile de árbol or espuela de gallo, because those are the ones I have readily available. You can also buy dry peppers, either árbol or Chinese hot peppers work as well. Grind them with the seeds and mix the powder with your favorite oil. I use olive oil and sesame seed oil, too. The amounts will depend on how spicy you want your chili oil. Let it rest for several days before using it.
