Hey hey! Hope all is well 😊
Surratt is doing 30% off for Black Friday but I didn't get these pretties there (though I did just do some damage 🤭). One of my favorite places to shop is the beauty section of Net-A-Porter, especially when there's a sale. You can get some fantastic deals, and that's where I got these brushes from. Not too long ago I was able to snag the complexion brush at 30% off and the face brush for 40% off. Presentation is on point and would make a good gift. The packaging is pretty dope; the boxes remind me of the pencil case I had in elementary school.
The complexion brush is made of weasel and I'm sorry to say I don't really care for it. The hair is very stiff and pulls on my skin. The brush is small. Like, for ants small. I find it to be too inefficient for foundation as the name implies, and the stiffness of the hair makes it too rough for applying concealer on my undereyes. It's OK but not that great for cream shadow/blush/highlight. It works fine for applying concealer to carve out my brows but I don't do that often enough for me to feel like it's a justifiable purchase. Don't recommend it at all; feel free to skip this one.
On the other hand, I really like the face brush. I was a bit skeptical about if it lived up to the hype, but it does. The hairs are soft, the length of the squirrel hair is perfect enough for this to be swirled or swept on the face, it has a nice dome to it, the density is on point, and it fits the contours of my face perfectly. Even though it's a squirrel brush, I find that it isn't quick to get gross. Overall, thumbs up.
As far as other Surratt brushes I recommend, I'm a sucker for flame-shaped blenders. The smoky eye brushes in medium and large are some of my favorites and are solid dupes for the now-discontinued Wayne Goss artist brushes. Keep an eye out on my IG for comparison photos!
Do you have these? What are your thoughts?
