I loved watching this episode. The love and joyful fun in this family is palpable. The sense of humor is evident in the banter between husband & wife and the kids. For those of you who don't seem to get it, George-to-the- Rescue helps Middle Class Homeowners...the LOWER middle class. They own their own homes and are the ones who are sort of making it but needs that extra help to continue on. The ones who could falter and drown in debts trying to fix those problems otherwise. Our country's middle class is largely taken for granted and forgotten and are getting squeezed out. They need help too. Maintaining, and even expanding the middle class segment of our country is good for the health of our country.

You are so right. There is one thing that everyone seems to forget (or never knew) is the fact that this country was actually built by the middle class - the working man and woman, the ones who get things done.

@dianemoonstone47155 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. George helps Home Owners...the LOWER middle class homeowners. They're the ones who normally don't get noticed and helped but they are our country's backbone. Anything that benefits regular folks is for the betterment of communities and of our country as a whole. More good families need to continue to exist for healthy neighborhoods to function well.

Our basement is worse... crooked stairs with no railing and the sewer pipe crossing through them, stone walls with crumbling mortar, holes in the stone walls part cement flooring (uneven levels) and part gravel where a previous owner's cat peed and pooped in... spider webs... @elizamilton263 жыл бұрын
The thing is that nowadays, there’s so many incredible fabrics & sealants that can withstand the rough & tumble of kids, pets, etc.😄 My Hubby & I have three cats & a baby, but we were able to find good rugs & furniture built with durable materials so we haven’t had to sacrifice our esthetic. That’s probably what the designer looked for.🤗
@shifrabaila66735 жыл бұрын
George, I love all that you have done. However, I truly hate to be a "downer, but the only thing I would have changed is that I would have placed the laundry room sink closer to the washer as there are times when you want to rinse or pre-wash something and then pop it into the washer. With so much space from the sink to the washer, a lot of water (or dirt, or what have you) would have landed on the counter top before reaching the washer.

AND the girly white sofa, (colourful kiddie furniture, wife coming down to do the laundry) Lol

Well, technically it wasn't a poop pipe leak, but the gasses from the sewer vent. Almost as bad! LOL

@849535 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm well aware of this. I was just trying to be funny. How about adding the smell of mold and mildew? This reminds me of a situation many years ago working with a youth mission program in Appalachia. Our center (where we resided during the week) was an old high school. There was a sewer vent opened into the locker room where the showers were and there was indoor/outdoor carpeting on the floor which was wet and full of mildew and more. We ended up either capping it up or making a crude alteration to it to vent the gasses elsewhere. That didn't take care of the mildew however. LOL
@jujujewel21725 жыл бұрын
@@84953 Oh yeah... ? Again eeew, fantastic little story, thanks for continuing to gross me out!! Lol, but not to worry dude thats ok I know you were trying to bring the humour, I was too, Im a bit of a clown (sometimes?) My sense of humour encompasses many styles & you may not always tell Im joking from say the dead pan style, it may not translate that well in written form (apparently its the hardest medium for comedy and only few possess the talent for it) you really have to see my face and the expressions I make! (Thats possibly why my brother has always found it so amusing to tease me...MY WHOLE LIFE!) And, as you may tell, I get "grossed out" quite easily, (so keep up with the poop pipe analogies and I will come after you!! Haahaah) But Im all about the laughs & the humour bud, its all goode

He has a young family. It would be mighty selfish to dedicate all that room, except for the space for a washer and dryer to just him! Now the white sofa - I agree with you on that (but not that it is girly; but it doesn't belong in a family room, man cave or not). Wife coming down to do the laundry - in his man cave! Please! He got his giant screen TV. She got an updated laundry room. I'd trade in a hot second!

Great family and now the basement is no longer a place you don’t want to be in but, it is where everyone wants to be. Great job as usual. My only question is why do all these designers pick white furniture in a house with children? And children aren’t the only ones who spill, adults do too. Looks pretty but not practical.

Lovely family. However. 'YES; everyone wants a place to call home. What I don't understand. WHY these houses are allowed to be on the market without any inspection from building inspectors to see if all is safe. I am happy for tis family. However, they should NEVER been allowed to buy a property with so many problems.
