I like the interior designer of this episode. She is thoughtful. She mentioned the boy may outgrew some of the things he like in the present so she created a he space instead of a kids room, making it easier for the boy to transition into adulthood in that room. George to the rescue is so much better than the other home makeover out there. You build functional, realistic, manageable house. Thank you for what you do to the many families you're helping and will be helping :)

johanna I thought that too but at the first of the episode the designer said she had to have a discussion with the mom about what she was ready to change and let go of and what she wasnt. So I have a feeling she may not have wanted her and her husbands bedroom changed drastically and that’s why they gave them the she room instead. She’s clearly a selfless woman who put the focus on what’s most important to her, making sure her kids have all they need and are doing ok.

Amid all the tragedies that occur on a daily basis, it is wonderful to see stories of how communities can still come together to support their own. It reminds me of a past time when doors and windows remained unlocked with friends and neighbours helping each other out through tough times. I'm very glad to see that it still exists 😊

Wow, almost exactly the same thing happened to family friends of ours when I was a kid. We always had Thanksgiving dinner together, and one year we got a call the next day telling us that the dad had suffered a massive heart attack and died that night, leaving his wife and two kids. That was probably 20 years ago now. I remember we felt so lost about what to do, so my mom and I went and picked out really nice boxes of Kleenex and brought them over. The mom answered the door and said, “Well, we know it wasn’t the turkey!”

It would have been nice if the Mom's bedroom had been redone. It will still be very hard for her to move forward facing all those memories in her room everyday. Sadly, there is a sort of comfort in grieving a lost spouse, for me it was having his cologne, one of his shirts that I could hold close to me. The tough part is that this kind of grieving holds a person in place and you can't move forward. For a year or two, this might be normal as she has done. But now it is time to "let him go" so that the pain can lessen. Her children need to her her move forward, it gives them permission to do the same. I hope George, even if you can't get back there to do her room, send in some folks and a designer to refresh her room. It needs to be done to complete the healing process.
@freedomartwork69505 жыл бұрын
Maybe she wasn't ready to have her room redone. The "She Space" may be just the transition she needs at this time to help her move forward.
@Meira7505 жыл бұрын
I agree. I don't get the "she space" here. Neither of them seem particularly "girlie" and the types to do mother/daughter mani/pedi/makeup/hair stuff.
