This is a great idea, baby boxes!! In my opinion, it's hard for a mother to give up her baby. But like the lady said the mother can be in a crisis that not only we don't understand but don't know. A mother could be in a financial crisis, be a teenager, or a victim of rape. In my opinion, since Roe vs Wade was changed, baby boxes are the best opinion for a mother to give her baby for adoption. That's my opinion

The baby box has been in China for years, and I believe a Priest funds it with his own funds and donations. China has a 2 child limit, and girl babies are dropped off. They also have an orphanage with those children, because it’s taboo to adopt someone else’s children. Babies are still murdered, but they have a safer option and it’s been heavily used. I watched a documentary on this, and there are cameras and bells to alert them that children are there. The US needs these boxes in every fire department around the country. I believe most of these newborn children wouldn’t be tossed in the garbage and/or murdered if parents had a safe place to put them anonymously. Some parents are abusing newborns and murdering them within days of their birth, because the mothers are home and can’t handle the constant crying. They don’t have the round of clock help that you have in the maternity ward. This should be part of the budget funding that every fire department receives.

I would use it if my baby came out messed up. I cant afford the medical bills of a medically complex child. We are self employed and make over 100k but I am pregnant and my private insurance for a healthy baby is going to cost over 20k out of pocket
