That's not what e bikes are designed to do to be fair. If you want range that much then buy a gas bike like you said, e bikes and gas bikes are not comparable when it comes to range, but they compare in power

Not designed for range, and this is worst case scenario he was going full throttle as fast as possible and going on hilly roads. These are designed for shredding around off road and the battery would last all day doing that.

Well it’s not like your going state to state on a e-bike it’s mostly used for recreational purposes and work/school commuting so 30 miles is more than enough but if your going on long trips then just get a gas bike

Higher voltage = higher rpm, you shpjkd be able to crack 50mph if you tuck for wind resistance cuz the only thing still stock is phase amps

So basically Chi increased it by 2 series, raising the max voltage from 67.2v(16s) to 75.6v(18s) at 67.2v you could theoretically get a maximum of 5376W (67.2V x 80A) and at 75.6V you could get to 6048W (75.6V x 80A) assuming that the battery current for the stock controller is 80A which I think I have read somewhere, 672W difference is not bad for just a battery upgrade, I wonder how it'll perform with a better controller

Also it seems to have less voltage sag than the stock battery so that's probably why it gets 1000w more power instead of 672w

@@oplkfdhgk yes that's most likely the case, its also because of the higher continuous amp and higher capacity of the chi so it doesn't really sag that much especially on stock power

Hasn't this been done in the DIY world ? Controllers are known to have higher tolerances then the rated voltages. I've always run my scooters higher voltage then their rated for. All you have to do is open it up and check the caps. Alotta 60v controllers will do 19s or 18s. I have a 12v batt pack connected in series to my scooter's 60v , locally we call it a 'booster' pack.

haha nice to see chi finally caught up in the battery game. Over here in the uk Electron Cycles brought out the Marathon battery that gives 10mph more and 15% more acceleration and it looks like Chi caught on with how they did it.

@@Thisisdumbb no but the specific voltage this battery runs at means you get more out of the stock controller that’s cuts off power at 58v which believe it or not is no where near the actually cutoff of the stock battery. By upping the voltage to 66v you get a battery cut off at 58v and a fully charge battery at 74v hence the more power from the stocks 67.4v max

Looks good with the 16" moto wheels. I just ordered a CS20 Cyclone with 72 volt 40 ah and with the 17" tires so this gives me a good idea of how I'll like them. I would need to be doing a lot more off road riding before I move up the food chain to the Surron, but love to watch your builds just the same. Merry Christmas

be careful with using CS20s too brutally... those aluminum frames can snap with too much stress. keep using them offroad but be cognizant of its limits

heres an idea. grab a mini bike frame, go power sports has some. ive always wondered for a cheaper alternative to higher power batteries. what if you grabbed a few lead acid batteries and grab some step up boost boards to raise the voltage up to 72v. using deep cycle lead acid cells and a few step up boards in parrallel should if im not mistaken should get you atleast 2kw of continous power if not more depending on how many step up boards and cells you get. id try it myself if the money was there

First off merry Christmas boys! But seeing this stock specs I’m more impressed with the one I built top speed 46 mph and 20 miles of range going full throttle and I spent $1100 but total price including extras lol was $1300-$1500 dope that chi was able to do this for riders!! Also such a sweet video man the colors and clarity were top notch

I doubt your bike can do 20 miles at 46mph. Probably can do one of those things at a time but not both. I spent $1500 on the p42a cells to make my battery and they were on a heavy black Friday sale.

So, to anyone that has a sur-ron. Or really any chain driven vehicle in general. Inspect your ENTIRE chain link by link if you ride hard. If not daily, at least weekly. Spent nearly half a day motherf*cking my sur-ron because the chain was skipping occasionally and going from super tight to loose. Found that there was a cracked link. Normally would do quick a once over after a ride, missed that sh*t because it was inconspicuous without driving it.
