Survey of a new tiled roof.

This customer asked me to have a look at the roof to see what I thought of the workmanship before she made the final payment. I get asked to do quite a lot of inspections of new roofs and unfortunately, quite a lot fail because people just don't understand ventilation. However, this is on a completely different scale of oh my God how bad could you actually do a job!

Gotta try and keep with the kids. It's a new technique called blind tilling. You tie a rubble sack over your head the whole working day and the client can only see the true results if they tie a sack on their head too.....whilst looking at the floor....in another street...in a different county.

Absolute bollocks ! Some of us younger lads are better then the old boys.. I've never once had to go back to my jobs and I always get nothing but praise for my attention to detail.. there's cowboys of all generations and I know a few myself and why I get all the good jobs and leave them picking at crumbs oh and I'm a one man band..

@@ETH85 I expect if you caused a accident you could cover the cost? Like scaffolding accident? Tile slips and damages expensive car? Etc, etc The reason people need to use more experienced roofers is because they are fully covered, also can usually be fair priced not greedy

I charge less then most older guys I know and I do a better job.. as for the rest insurance is there for that and I've never had any slip ups ever anyway because I make sure there won't be any.. as for scaffold that's their problem not yours.. you pay them to put it up correctly

Steve are you free to post your survey report ? I am not a roofer but aren’t the tiles supposed to run under the hip tiles, it looks like there has been some effort to try and make it watertight. Somebody working well beyond their capabilities I guess.

OMG what a crap job! I have red concrete tiles on my roof (4 br, 3 bath w attached 3 car garage) that I installed MYSELF 25 years ago and you can't see ANY of the concrete on the ridges or valleys! That's poor workmanship and no pride. Probably another fly-by-night contractor that gives good contractors a bad name.
