Katie...Magnesium Glycinate... I take one capsule at night before bed when I need it. I sleep, and when I wake up, I am refreshed and feel like I slept well. It just might work for you. Take care.

I also use magnesium glycinate sometimes using 4 capsules.

Katie...try one capsule after dinner. You should take with food. It helps with my foot cramps. (I hate taking supplements)

Katie, I used to have trouble sleeping, until I started unplugging our WiFi router before going to bed. Now I sleep well nearly every night. You can also try valerian root. For hardcore insomnia. Take 30 minutes before going to bed. It is stinky. But the less the smell bothers you, the more likely it is to help. Also, as your body learns that night time is when you are supposed to sleep, you should wean yourself off of it. Not meant for use indefinitely.

For sleep issues, a good daily exercise regimen is helpful especially for those who sit at the computer each day. Also no big meals or sugary food/drinks later in the day or at all. I also find that liquid Calcium and Magnesium helps me get to sleep and sleep more soundly. All I take is a teaspoon about an hour before bed. I’ve used it for years and notice a big difference if I forget it. Product name is Calcium Magnesium, orange flavor by Nature’s Life. Liquid in a bottle. My local Natural Grocer carries it. I hope you get relief!

When I can't fall asleep I t have the old radio show, Nightsounds on KZbin. I select the program Quiet Moments. It doesn't always work but usually I'm asleep by the second song. I have watched all your videos for over a year and I just noticed I wasn't subscribed so now I'm a subscriber.

I took melatonin a few years ago. I slept like the dead, but I began to have memory problems. I would forget those little "popcorn" appointments--the ones that just pop up in your life. It turns out that for women in particular, that is a side effect, especially as we age (I was around 50 when I started using it). There is research to support that. I'm now using magnesium threonate, that can get past the blood brain barrier. It's fairly helpful.

I feel you 100% with the no sleep. Have tried everything from natural to prescription. Still experience fitful sleep. One thing I have tried that may work is counting backwards from 100!!

Katie, Have a look at blue screen technology. I found that when I was sitting in front of a computer screen all day I was only sleeping 2hrs each night. Blue screen helped, wasnt perfect but definitely helped my brain switch down each evening.

Katie, thank you for sharing your experience with melatonin. It effects me adversely, too. Also valerian and chamomile tea. Happy to hear the ceiling work is going well!

Chamomile + lemon balm tea! (grow my own)😊 If you can't do chamomile lemon balm (melissa oficinalis) is wonderful on its own, or with basil flowers & leaflets, ginger root, lemon juice, honey. Tea is so good for body, mind, & soul 😌 Also l-theanine, valerian, magnesium are wonderful for sleep. Can also try a mug of hot milk, it works wonders for adults, too. That's why babies sleep like a baby at night 😉

It's interesting that melatonin causes such a problem with your sleep, as it's naturally produced in your body, it's not a drug...what dosages have you tried? Also, keep in mind that your body may now be going through lovely "changes".....

I watch several vlogs and I think about what they are doing and stay away from anything about me or my chores and that greatly helps me fall asleep. Good luck finding a solution.

Hello 👋 Katie, a natural sleep aid that I became aware of a couple of decades ago is a plant called valerian. It’s easy to grow and smells fantastic when it’s blooming

Katie, I take magnesium bisglycinate for leg cramps and sleep. My granddaughter takes it to help her focus and ADD. Research magnesium supplements. It might help you.

Yes, melatonin can give a person very vivid dreams. It does that because it puts you in deep REM sleep which is when you dream. Try a regular dose of Magnesium glycinate instead. Our nervous system needs this mineral to function properly, it relaxes our nervous system and muscles. The glycinate form is easily absorbed.

I’m sorry about your chicken I was wondering how she was doing. Unfortunately I lost a chicken earlier this week. My beloved Betty Schwartz. She was failing for a few weeks and unfortunately did not go in the coop at night for a few nights I believe She was the dominant chicken of the flock but the rest are doing well.
