Most important to me is a small water purifier like life Straw, Kevlar paracord, good knife, waterproof blanket, flashlight. This will keep weight to minimum, paracord for snare traps, life Straw to purify water, knife for processing meat you kill like rabbits, waterproof blanket so you can keep warm and dry a tarp will keep you warm plus it can be a quick makeshift roof to keep dry, lighter for fire to cook and having those things I mentioned combined with survival skills is enough to stay alive. Carrying too much weight will wear you out decreasing your chances of survival. Life depends on water, food, shelter and protection so I would carry what I mentioned because it keeps it to a minimum weight but also the things I need to live off land until I got to my destination

@louderbackberry You are going to quickly learn that the lighter is a waste, you should have a fire starter system and a backup, it's far more reliable,extremely light, and lasts longer. I hate to tell you the straw is only good for so long, so maybe rethink that. Knife and the cord are a given but not the best for what you said. The last thing you should be in good shape is plain and simple common sense !! If you can't carry half your weight for a long distance, you need to get into better shape. No matter what you think you're going to need far more if the shit really happens. Weapons, ammo, rifle, pistol are strictly for defense only. Bow and arrows or crossbow are best for hunting and staying quiet. Definitely going to need more for weather and coverage than what you say. Good luck staying alive with a lightweight pack ! I give you less than a week.

Aside from covering it with a conductive cover that’s grounded… chances are all the same! MOST vehicles (Yes even modern) will highly likely be fine! Majority of panels are metal, modules are typically under multiple of layers of metal as well as most are actually encased in metal! Vehicle electronics for the most part are not solid state, meaning they are fused! They also have a significant ground structure and are built pretty robust given the environment they operate in and how prone to failure their electrical system is! The “EMP protection things” are nothing more than snake oil! They aren’t even passive devices!! IF it was at least passive THEN it would be a little more believable! (Still wouldn’t change anything but at least then you’d get a little something for your money more than just a heavily potted LED pcb and horrible wiring!)
