Except 20 yards in they can still smell ya. No offense. I'm homeless. Sleeping on the sidewalk for a couple months now. My pack is stuffed with socks. First thing a learned is if you can't get warm enough to sleep, don't bother trying. And when you finally do, be prepared because that's when they steel from you. I have a two person sleeping bag and put my stuff and myself inside it. I start everyday with at least a gallon of water, and I have a small propane cooker which has absolutely been a game changer. Heating water enables you to do more than any other thing you could carry on you. I would argue that's the third most important thing. Your feet and your teeth are what will disable you. But if you smell bad enough that can be disabling. I've going two three weeks at a time without showering. And all of this has made me realize that if shit hits the fan the way you guys are describing, your survival plan includes getting help or you will not make it. So your survival plan starts by asking, "how will I help people" that will be your survival strategy .
