I tried playing the resident evil 1 remake without the tank controls since there’s an option to turn it off but soon realized that for that game it’s actually beneficial to be able to shoot while walking backwards and the tank controls keep your forward movement direction static even with all the camera angle changes. Without them you might end up going a direction you don’t want to when you enter a new scene. Those different camera angles also add more suspense when you enter a room and you can hear a monster but it’s obscured by the camera angel until you’re right on top of it and you know it’s coming every time but you also know there’s no other way to progress than to brave the unknown. So, I know a lot of people complain about them, but for that specific type of game it actually makes sense to have them like that. It was definitely intentional, and the player is actually hindered more without them.

Hell yes! Dark Corners of the Earth was awesome, the controls at time for inputting answers to puzzles could be a little frustrating at times but this was my intro to survival horror and its solid.

Calling for the Wii is a survival horror I'd totally recommend checking out. It even tries some inventive stuff like sending you messages on your Wii's Message Board.

WOW! REGGIE has an EXCELENT taste in videogames (in my opinion). EVERY game he mentions is AMAZING.

The Thing was amazing as a survival horror. So was Second Sight. Echo Night Beyond. There were three Hunter: The Reckoning games which were great horror fun. Curse: Eye of Isis. I actually stream a lot of these older horror games. It's how I found this channel. Realizing there were this many games you had in which I had... amazing.

Hey bro! I personally have a SUPER rare survival horror game that most people have NEVER heard of for the PS1. It is called "Countdown Vampires" and it was made by Ban Dai. I believe it was pulled from shelves because it pretty much ripped off the exact RESIDENT EVIL engine. The game takes place in a casino (called "Blood Moon"), and as people are watching dancers perform, the casino's water sprinkler system goes off, but the water turns black, thus turning the casino's patrons into vampires. The game features multiple endings, based on if you cure the vampires (via the standard tranquilizer gun, followed by sprinkling "white water" on their unconcious bodies) or if you simply kill them via regular weapons. Vampires (in place of zombies) weren't the only feature of the enemies, there are also mosquito people, and werewolves! Its a 2 disc set, and the replay value is incredibly high! The voice acting is admittedly terrible, but that is exactly why it makes the game actually more interesting. I have a copy, but I have never seen the game on shelves in many years, and I believe it didnt have much proper distrubution. The game is DEFINITLEY a hidden gem, and for survival horror fans - will be a GREAT addition to their collection! I would be eternally greatful if you would review the game, as it really needs more credibility than what it had gotten. If you would like, I would be happy to send you my copy to review, and I am an incredibly HUGE fan of your channel. Thanks and i hope to hear back from you for the sake of this incredible title! Take care bro!

The Thing video game was pretty awesome. Had like squad-based sanity bars, and you had to keep testing each one of them to see if they'd been contaminated - or were the Thing, can't quite remember. Forbidden Siren on the PS3 was incredible, for me. I was so scared that I couldn't even play through that much of it.
