Rash decisions costs lives, I was in a wood turned out to be a pheasant pen and was surrounded by shotguns the led shot was raining down through the leaves of the wood, rash decisioning and instincts was saying get the hell out. Second thoughts were I could be shot exiting the wood and desided to bunker down instead. On reflection this was the best idea, good stuff mick 👍🫡

When I kayaked I always trained for self rescue . Bright orange clothing , wind proof , . Swimming 70 laps of a pool . Maps of the waterways with all exits that I would head for . They always said stay with the boat . I never had that situation but from being out on the water I knew me and the boat would part company if the chit hit the fan . Strategy is more important than a plan
