For the sake of argument, let's say a bullet weighs 1 gram and is traveling 3000 feet per second, and an armor plate weighs 1 kilogram. The moment it hits the plate, and the plate sustains the hit without being penetrated, that same Feet Per Second is now being reduced by 1000 times to 30 feet per second (since the bullet is now required to move 1000 times its weight from before). On top of that, the energy is now dispersed over the entire torso, instead of an object the size of a fingertip. This is why firing a gun does not blow your arm off every time you shoot - the forces involved are only truly dangerous when the objects are capable of being speedy. However, this is why people generally fear shotgun slugs, since the difference between the projectile weight and the armor plate is drastically reduced, even if a slug is traveling much slower. So it will kick harder, even if it doesn't have a chance in hell of getting through.

My uncle told me a story about getting shot directly into the plate while in Iraq. He said he was sat down instantly by the force and all he wanted to do at that moment was just lay there for the rest of the day. I forget if he said that he had either bruised or cracked some ribs, but he was sent home shortly afterwards.

The thing about higher refresh rate might not bet worth it because it creates so much larger files, either lower quality for higher refresh rate or keep it but the files will be exponentially bigger

Exponentially bigger? Double the frames means double the size if at the same quality. If the bitrate doesn't increase with the higher broadcast setting you will get smoother video at the cost of image quality and no change in file size. Also, streaming doesn't take up any storage and recordings are for youtube not twitch and temporary on his pc untill they are sent to the editors (I'm sure they have a workflow to ensure he keeps his copy till its published or similar) And then there is the fact your talking to a multimillionaire.. I'm sure he could afford a whole rack of storage if he needed it for whatever reason.

Re bullets hitting hard armour. I have never had it happen to me but :) ......... A ( non penetrating) hit to the front plate should be no more painful than the stock against the shoulder of the shooter. Its the same force. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction"

FYI: Yes, getting shot in the chestplate does hurt. I heard a guy talking how they were on patrol (in Ukraine), and suddenly his buddy kicks him in the back full force, headfirst into a ditch. He said "not funny", but it wasn't a kick, it was a bullet caught by his back plate.

Matt would NEVER be behind live firing into a plate someone is wearing, maybe a ballistic torso. But to put it in perspective it would be like getting kicked in the chest by a horse. Body armor does not stop the kinetic energy of the round, this is a fine example of Newtons law...

With soft armor maybe, but with a solid plate the force is significantly more distributed, even with a partial penetration.

The round can't gain energy in flight, the felt recoil when firing plus the energy lost by the bolt moving against the recoil spring is the maximum energy that the plate could be hit with. Put the buttstock of a rifle or shotgun on the plate and fire a single round into the berm would be similar energy felt from getting hit in a plate by the round fired. (assuming the plate takes the bullet hit without damage) It wouldn't be pleasant but for intermediate cartridges it wouldn't literally knock you on your ass from the force (maybe from the startle response).

for me since theres nothing to combat them i just ignore it as much as i can, and idk if its just me but i havent come across a single one this wipe for about 250 raids, last wipe was around 20 of them out of 900 raids. servers maybe? im on US west where all the chinese cheaters throw on there VPNS but even then i either never come across any atleast blatant and when i do i dont let it get to me and just hop back in raid.
