Good demo. I've only ever used the double trip sticks for the trigger... the idea being that the bait is between the sticks so the bird has to cross a stick to get to the bait. If the cage is big enough the sticks don't have to go back to the corners of the cage, they can just be set a few degrees apart. But a single stick is good, and I can follow your logic. Here in the desert most of menu consist of rodents, so dead-falls rule. I really don't like eating game that has stiffened up, also in the heat it often spoils. A trick I use is to dig a hole under my dead-fall, this way the game is trapped alive!

I have a question that may be dumb, but I am curious. How do you harvest something like a rabbit out of a trap like that? It seems to me that if you have to reach your arm under there you are in trouble; either the animal escaping, getting bit, and so on. Thanks.
