Very cool idea, I can see how it lends itself to multiple configurations depending on your area or outing you may be taking. Can't wait to see the spear/gig tips. Thanks for sharing!

Ingenious. I have learned that there are basically two types of people on the net. Those that spend their time bitching about celebs getting too much attention, and those that actually have important and/or interesting information to share. Thank you Sir, for sharing your knowledge and creativity with those of us that appreciate it. Your walking staff is awesome. I will try to recreate it before I go hiking in the woods. Thanks again.

Thank you, what a good idea. I'm semi retired and want to start back packing, What I'd use this for is the support pole for a tarp tent, add the fact all the stuff you can carry when using it as a walking stick makes this a wonderful idea for my plans

Nice kit. I'd recommend a small cutting tool of some-sort; and a tightly rolled 55gal drum liner for an impromptu shelter. And if you have space, a small nail clipper is great for the sewing/fishing kit. Side note: You can store 4x more 'clean' cotton, plus a tube of 'carmex' (petroleum jelly) lip ointment, in the same amount of space as those pre-smeard cotton balls. It's just as useful, if not more-so, and it's a lot less messy. Dollar tree carries a generic 2-pack of petroleum jelly lip-stuff (for a dollar) that is 100% petroleum.

Your walking stick is a GREAT idea but I have a few thoughts, 1. Don't drink the yellow snow. 2. You would never pass for an Arab. But all kidding aside, what you put in it, and the compass in the top are some of the best I have seen on UTUBE. thanks for the vid, I will be making one soon.

Very cool. I have been thinking of making a survival staff. This video has given me some ideas. I like the coin tubes, I didn't know about those.
@jamesmouakkassah670510 жыл бұрын
it would be helpful to you to have a plastic disk with a long string to put in each tube before loading this way you can pull on the string and the disk on the bottom will bring up all of you items in the tube.
@wolf106611 жыл бұрын
Those coin tubes are a great idea. I'd never heard of them before, now I want to see if I can find anything like that here in NZ - I'm always on the lookout for compact useful containers to hold a few items. Great seeing what sort of stuff fits in them, too. Many thanks for a great vid.

That is a nice stick Charlie. One option you may want to add for the tip is a simple rare earth magnet. People use them to find fragments of meatiers that have hit the earth. They are highly magnetic, and highly valuable if you find a big one.

I just found this video. I made 2 of these back a month ago or so. 1 for my wife and 1 for myself. I used a different type of build on mine. I used "Rubber Feet" for bar stools on my bottom ends. I mine are 1" also and just 1 length on PVC pipe not several pieces like yours are. I do like yours and having different compartments too. I may have to rebuild. he-he.

great idea Mr.SOS.... however I agree with Anne Ominous with relocating tips-end(s)? and I'm think for a more durable and firming coating I'd go with a coat of pick up bed liner rust-oleum or rhino liner ?? just a thought .... God bless and be safe!!

What a great idea - the only thing I'd change is that I think I'd have gone with some kind of paint rather than black duct tape - my experience is that it tends to get a bit messy when it gets exposed to the weather or if it's handled much.

Very clever, I'd like to see your finished idea. I think you need to include a bug out bag in your travel plans, or at least a vest with more pockets. Do you carry a multi-tool? A pack that is camel pack ready? How about emergency food? Do have a way to mount spear points or fishing points that are all ready made? Oh, something for small/medium game hunting would also be a good idea, maybe in your bugout bag of your survival kit? I need to find a vest with lots of pockets.

Good Stuff, I wonder if you have more ideas to share for the staff body, we are thinking making one in bamboo with the inside soft material scraped and epoxied for extra hardness. we tried with a carbon part of a fishing rod but was to brittle to be trusted for support. Keep on with your videos, and your positive attitude.

@mikeyoung981011 жыл бұрын
Nice video. It would be a useful tool if stranded.
@AnneOminous112 жыл бұрын
A big tip (no pun intended): You DO NOT want the bottom end to be heavy! No big steel fittings and caps on the bottom! That's what moves most. If it's heavy you will tire and burn too many calories. Put a hard but lightweight point on the bottom, like combo ski/hiking poles. They know what they are doing. The bottom should have a sturdy PLASTIC fitting, hard tip. Big steel cap at the TOP, and most of the weight around where the hand will be.
