I first met Jim Callahan a couple years ago at a survival expo in Phoenix Arizona. I was intrigued by his survival walking stick but the fact that he is a retired Army Ranger who designed the stick intrigued me even more.
I regretted not buying one of his sticks while at the survival expo so this time when I bumped into him again....I made sure I bought one.
For 2 reasons.
1. Because its a cool walking stick packed with tools that could save my life when out hiking.
2. Because I want to support an Army officer who served our country for 23 years.
Thank you for your service Jim.
To buy one of Jim's survival walking stick please contact him at Hawk6@q.com
(my dad & my uncle both served in Vietnam as Army soldiers so I have a lot of love for the Army!)

To get those amazing 360 degree shots I use the Insta360X3 with the newer big scree and 4k video amzn.to/3LvN5nQ
GoPro Hero 10 - This has "horizon lock" which is amazing! Combined with image stabilization....this camera basically killed all my 3 axis gimbals lol. Its a game changer for action video. Hyper smooth is no joke. Invest and buy it if you are serious about making videos.

@@adamsmith3413 From what I can tell it's currently like $50k a year for life for a colonel, plus free medical, 10% discounts on just about everything, cheap VA loans, etc. Not too shabby for passive income, especially if in a state with low cost of living and/or no/low state income tax . Work part time making another $25-30k doing something you like and life is good.

Matztertaler, All of his sticks are made of wood and the version with the witness marks to aid in tracking, to which he drills out only one end to a specific depth to contain the survival tools. So, the short answer is, "No" he isn't using bamboo for his sticks. As tough as bamboo is, I doubt it would have the life expectancy of a hardwood or whatever is being used and seen in this video. A good friend of mine (who passed away 2 Christmases ago) bought me one of these as a gift. He also gave me a broadhead and the attachment to make a spear or gigging tool but it seems to be fairly fragile and easily bent. That said, I'd be VERY leery and cautious about using it for casual hunting out of concern of breaking it. If there was a MUCH (!!) stronger method of attaching a broadhead or other impaling tool (outside of the slip-on knife shown) it would be that much more effective and helpful. However, lashing a quality knife to the end WOULD make an effective stand-off tool or weapon. Used with caution and keeping the fragile nature of the broadhead attachment method in mind, this does have some utility and purpose, though. All in all not a bad tool to have on hand in the field as an adjunct to a bigger survival kit.

Whether his marketing techniques are completely valid or not isn't the point here. The point of this video isn't about him; this is about YOUR OWN survival. Regardless of what quality it is, the survival gear you have with you is always superior to the gear you you left behind. I'll gladly take this tricked out walking stick with me and you guys who don't want one can come along too. When the chips are down in a genuine survival situation you will be begging to use the survival gear and the walking stick! This is actually a very cleverly designed walking stick with a lot of novel features such as the arrowhead insert, a taper for mounting a bayonet, etc. Also, I like the idea of adding a bullet holder strip down the side of the key chain fob. I'll be adding that to the next ones I make. Jim, here's an idea to consider. Feel free to use it. On my fobs I place a good carabiner on both ends. They are far more useful than a key ring in a survival situation. The whistle can still go on the lower carabiner. The top carabiner can snap on a belt, back pack, or any other convenient spot. Put the key ring part on a simple lanyard and sell it with the fob, giving the option to attach the lanyard to the fob for neck wear when desired. It would be a far better and more versatile arrangement. Best of luck in your business!

Colonel Callahan, I love the features you've built into your walking sticks and your other products. A couple questions: Do your walking sticks have any sort of built-in mount at the lower end of the stick, to bolt or lash a Y- or L-shaped metal tool to be used for pinning down snakes or critters which are caught in traps or snares, knock fruit, nuts or fire making materials out of a tree, as a rest for glassing or shooting etc? Also, are any of your sticks built six feet or longer? I ask this because I think anything intended to use as a spear or long-handled gouging weapon should be a least 8-10 inches longer that the height of its user, to make it as difficult as possible to land on the sharp end of the tool if a person loses their balance and falls to the ground.

"If stride is longer I'm losing shorter I'm catching up to him"! Lol! I love guys who say silly stuff like this. Very obvious not much training in man tracking or prim tech.

yeah, you can use it to push off wild dogs or javelina lmfao...A wild animal isn't going to give a fuck about that stick. you better have a rifle! for the love of Christ, get a back pack with some real gear, and consider getting some bug juice and a roll of toilet paper.

8:00 Brings to mind the WW2 silver dollar/dollars option sewn in behind the paraglide patches on my unit's garrison cap. The weight of the coin/coins used as a blackjack, could help get you out of a 'Fayettville Combat Alley Scrap' with marines, or even buy your way back to Bragg when you've run out of folding cash.
