Can you think of anything else regarding lane position I may have overlooked? 🤔

Position 1 is, by far, the best place to be for most riding. You are more visible to oncoming traffic, and when following cars, position 1 puts you right in the driver's left mirror. When riding, I worry more about cars coming in from driveways and parking lots than oncoming. Position 1 puts me farther away from those drivers and gives me more time to react.

Great advice and I love the 180 mirror. Never seen that before but gonna see if I can make it work on my bike. As a side note, it's illegal to have high beams on within city limits at night. I don't know about all states but probably most of them. And it's also not necessary for anyone to have high beams on blinding people at night. The normal headlight mode contrasts enough at night against the dark background. 😂 At night, I'm more concerned about drivers being able to distinguish that I am a motorcycle and not just a car with only a single headlight working. So I installed some front LED blinkers that operate as white running lights when not being used as blinkers.

There's lots of laws, but most are never enforced. Like cell phone use in cars in Ohio. Yeah, right. Police won't bother. Laws are mostly deterrents for those who obey rules, which most don't anymore. Adding extra lighting to bikes is a good idea. Visibility is key. If I rode at night I'd invest in them no doubt.

What do you do if you someone follows you too closely? I tried to get someone to back off behind me on a one lane road and they wouldn't back off if anything they got closer. I pulled over to let them pass.

Smart. You don't want to battle a 2-ton vehicle. No thanks! My life is more valuable than proving a point to an idiot.
