No other video on KZbin speaks the truth like you are on this video, very very informative my friend. I consider you an expert (been following you for awhile now) and yet you stay humble, I like that. Thanks for all you share. I'm following you from Spain by the way an I've been keeping blue tongue skinks for many years, that doesn't means I'm an expert; it means that I have to keep and keep researching more and more, never its enough with our reptiles. Your channel will be huuuuge!!!

Joshua, thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate your support and comments. You are so right, we all must keep researching more and more. These wonderful animals have so much to teach us and we owe it to them to learn as much as we can. :) Thanks again man! It's awesome to know our BTS keeping community is truly a global one. Salude!

Quality videos. I really appreciate your emphasis on empiricism - there are so many strong opinions in the reptile world, and so few founded in science or professional experience.

Thanks for watching and the compliment. I know what you mean. The hobby grew so fast over the past 15 years that I feel we may have missed a few important steps. Such as teaching people the why behind the action.

Thanks, TC very clear informative, given some good pointers to look for. one of the main things I'm worried about at the moment is the viv being on the floor and walking past on a regular basis. but so far my baby not showing any of the negative signs but does show the positive ones. keep up the good work man.

Found this video extremely interesting and very helpful. To actually know what to look for in a stressed animal as apposed to a calm and contented animal is very helpful. Thank you.😁

I love the videos that you make where I learn a lot! This was awesome, TC. Thank you. Snowy is thriving according to your information and that makes me a happy Mama. It's probably mostly due to the fact that I have a very quiet home. :-)

Thanks Coop! Yeah Richard's animals are something else! He pushes the limits on husbandry to challenge us all. Plus he is a character on top of it all (a good dude). I love how he antagonizes folks online to ensure good discussion. Its funny to watch...lol.

My blue tongue goes over its poo if I don't clean it in time (usually around 30 seconds) is this some type of stress or maybe something else?

your bluey either doesn’t care that it’s going through poop or is intentionally checking it out haha

This is a great video! Your reptiles are so calm around you. You must take good care of them. :) I was also curious about something, what age would you recommend getting a blue tongue?
@ReptileMountainTV
@ReptileMountainTV 6 жыл бұрын
It depends on the keeper’s maturity level really, AND how involved the adult(s) helping are. I would say 6+ would be good but it all depends on lots of things. I will be doing a video on that very soon.

Do northern blue tongue need or should I have a heat pad on the tank
@ReptileMountainTV
@ReptileMountainTV 7 жыл бұрын
+Brian Anderson They need a thermal gradient. You can provide that in many ways, heat pad being one option. Check out my caresheet for more info www.reptilemountain.com/husbandry

+Brian Anderson belly heat is not required as long as they have a basking area at about 100F they'll be fine.

Just watching tons of your videos before purchasing my blue tongued skink. What if your skink is doing some of these things in stress but you’ve put everything in their enclosure that you are supposed to? Would you check with a vet or call a vet? Or something else?
