Axe Project Pt. 2 - Axe Head Painting

This is another installment of the Axe Project, in this one I painted the Axe head back on May 27th and I fill you in on when I found out the Axe needed to have some work done to repair it. There's a warning at the end of the video 😳

This one was in need of some help for sure James 🤪 I'm slowly getting where I can get back to finishing it after everything else that went on 😉 Yeah it's hard to be camera man, director, painter and actor all at the same time 😳 LOL Thing is James...this is a working Axe and it's going to look so good...I'm going to hate to use it when I'm done 🤪 ROFLMAO

Howdy Ray! Have you cleaned up the brushes behind your seating area? The Axe head looks nice, and I saw the speck of dust/flying seeds latch to the Axe head-Oh No, and then, yup , was as bad as I thought ;-) But the cat coming by made it allright again ;-) Stay safe!

No, I haven't cleaned up...I moved the 'Park Bench' along the fence line so that I get a better WiFi signal from the house 👍 That speck polished right out, you can't even tell it was there 👍 Anyway, it wouldn't stay pretty for long...this Axe will be messed up soon as I go out camping for the first time with it....it's a working Axe 🤪 LOL Yeah, Spot likes to jump right into the middle of everything 😳

Is that the original handle or a rehang? I could swear the head is on upside down, it flares up from the eye whilst the bottom looks die straight. Not that it will matter with a good epoxy filled hang, just odd to look at. I rehung a Kentish pattern head on a completely hand carved oak handle last year. I spent hours carefully sizing the wood the eye. Finally wedged it up and couldn't work out why there was a small gap at the base of the eye, it definitely wasn't there in my test fits. Then I looked again, I'd hung the thing upside down at the last fitting. It happens and I'm not fixing it, that thing is on there until the handle breaks.

That's the original handle 👍 It is a oddly shaped Axe but it works well now that I've finally finished it 👍

I broke a boy axe a couple fo years ago. I want to make bodark handle for it but shorter like a camp hatchet.

That should be a nice strong handle then 👍 If I'm not mistaken Bodark trees are here around this area aren't they? I don't know my trees as well as I should 😔 That's one thing I'm wanting to edumicate myself more about, I'm lacking in that area for sure 😉 This one is more for splitting and not for felling a tree, it's a nice small one 👍 It's not one I'd put on my belt it's a easy one to pack around 👍 Thing is LG...this will be a working Axe and it's going to look so good...I'm going to hate to use it when I'm done 🤪 ROFLMAO
