Dowloaded the book! Honestly Ali, you've got such a possitive outlook on life, so much energy, and you're in great shape. 3 things ive struggled with for a long time but over the past few weeks ive re-started going to the gym, sorting out my diet and trying to look at failures as opportunities to try something different. I went to art school too and since graduating ive really struggled with getting back into the groove of making stuff just because i want to and not for a grade so seeing you still being creative and excited for new projects is a massive inspiration! :D For anyone reading this comnent, i highly recommend downloading the book. I did and I enjoyed it. It's not long but what's in it is top quality. Cuts out a lot of bs other self-helpy kinda books have.

The smoke alarm brought back flashbacks to the time the WIRED smoke alarm in my apartment, right outside my bedroom, had it's end of life beep going on. Also the office and the handyman couldn't get the alarm down to fix/replace it. It went on for weeks. I tried ignoring it, I tried testing to see if I could guess the pitch, I tried making up songs where the beep would fit in (YOU SHOULD TRY THAT ACTUALLY ALI!!), I tried earplugs, I visited my parents hoping that by the time I came back it would be fixed. They finally got a firefighter in to replace the alarm. Turns out there is an anti-theft chunk of plastic stopping some smoke alarms from acting like normal smoke alarms. (I never knew smoke alarms were so precious and stolen so often that they must be protected). I'm glad your sanity was saved.
