Surviving a Disaster - Agnes Flood - The Benco Dental Story

In June 1972, Hurricane Agnes tore through northeastern Pennsylvania destroying thousands of homes and businesses. At the time, Benco Dental's headquarters was located in one of the areas hardest hit by the storm. In this video, members of the Benco Dental family recall the hardships they faced and describe how the company was able to pull through the disaster.

I worked here, demolition , tax free money and met the most amazing ppl I could ever meet. Took the bus from Halen, met at Kirby ark and went to work. Amazing, sad experience, I was 17 years old. I loved it, I also cried .

I worked next door to Benco at Valley Engineering in 1972. We stored much of your larger equipment in our shop while all of us slopped mud. I remember taking a lunch-time nap sitting in one of your dentist's chairs. Today, Valley Engineering is now Unison Engine Components, a division of General Electric Aviation, and our administrative offices are in the original brick Benco building.
