Hybrid Characteristics: Sandy exhibited both tropical and extratropical characteristics, making it a unique storm. It maintained a warm core of convection-created energy at its center while also having a large and asymmetric wind field. Timing and Tides: Sandy made landfall at high tide, which exacerbated the storm surge and flooding. The full moon also contributed to a higher-than-normal "spring tide," further amplifying the damage. Interaction with Jet Stream: Sandy's interaction with the jet stream, particularly the "blocking high" that forced the hurricane to make a sharp turn to the left, was unusual and contributed to its destructive impact. These factors combined to make Hurricane Sandy a rare and devastating storm.

I was im 3rd grade when this happened and I remember they had to postpone halloween. I tried going trick or treating after the hurricane but many of the houses didn't have candy because of Sandy. People tried their best to salvage halloween for me and the other kids the best they could but it still was extremely eerie and strange as a kid. I remember remember my family driving very far away to try to find gas for the generators but no matter how far we drove there were still long lines for gas and it was a struggle for sure.

America. The only one of what is now over 50 countries in the British Commonwealth to commit High Treason. I can't imagine them fitting in to be honest. It was 'The Battery' that made me think. I do think New York is a great place though - for a visit.
