I used to play fight night 24/7 I was once a online belt holder for the heavyweight division. I was literally obsessed with this game. My favorite punch thats pretty underrated is a uppercut to the body, also a well timed uppercut to the face.

i think distance management the most key thing i think . you honestly couldve held your ground and kept him at the end of your punches and picked him apart because you was fighting into his style lowkey , footwork and defense the most key things on FN to me because literally everyone has offense

One big important thing in fight night is your head movement. If you hold L2 or LT (PlayStation or Xbox) and move the left stick, you'll move your head depending on where you point it. And you can also do this while you're holding the block button.

From what I remember a well timed step back straight counter punch worked great for me. I remember playing as Thomas Hearns and his long ass arms always had the reach advantage. Straights and jabs baby. Wait then out until they get tired

The meta for me is starting at the top then bottom , and start some type of rhythm . After a while most people will chase and that’s when you mix em on the back paddle . I’ve found a few people to crack my code but most fall for it . Especially if they thought it was going to be an early night .

@16:57 absolutely you can be hit before you pull your hand back to block after you punch. Shoot your counters can even be countered so if you throw a punch better be ready for what can possibly come next. Me and my uncle go at it in this game, and we counter almost anything lol.

@@MartialMind he doesnt come in and stop it but the ref waves the fight off if you do enough damage to a cut. it counts as a TKO, but the commentators say doctor stoppage

@@MartialMind if you look at when ur in a corner theres ur stamina and damage bar. if your damage bar is completely full and you have a bunch of cuts, the ref eventually waves the fight off when you take too much damage. a doctor doesnt step in but the ref does, theres a few achievements online for it and you can prob find vids on youtube or go test for yourself! hope this helped

Fight night champion does have doctor stoppages, but they're not really doctor stoppages if you know what i mean 😂. The ref steps in and its classed as a TKO. However ive found it only really works when you have the damage awareness high in the settings (which you obviously can't do in online). Shame we wont get another fight night, what a game 🫡

The head movement in fight night is so trasn but pressure is usually the meta in most combat games the blocking is just as trash as ufc 4 and 5 but the head movement in ufc is way better stamina is kinda meaningless you can just throw
