An interesting exploits of sorts I discovered while playing Czechoslovakia: when Germany demands the Sudetenland, wait until the last day before the event auto-expires, and then reject the German demand as late as possible without it expiring. For some reason, when you do that, the UK will often guarantee your independence in the few seconds between Germany getting a war goal on you and declaring a war on you. This way, you immediately start the war in the Allies, and while they won't attack the Germans from the other side they will send lots of air to assist you and the Germans won't be able to concentrate all of their forces on you.

You dont need to be in allies nor to be in allied faction as democracy on Elite. First you focus on your industry and let Hungary build up till early 38, then you blitz it. Let Romania hop in, blitz Bulgaria, build forts and AA in Zalozie and Sopron. Use tanks as defensive reinforcment. Wait till Poland blitz, get military acces, blitz Prussia, go to Stettin and hard turn to Berlin. You will cap Germany by late 39, you are out of war with little as 50k deaths and poor Poland is at war with Soviets along with all the allies. Dont invite Yugo in Entante, its a death trap.

Interesting enough, this was exactly what was supposed to happen back in 1938. We (Czechoslovakia) had several allience treaties with France, GB and Russia. The only one who did not openly refused to go against Adolf was Russia. Even with their help, we would not hold more than 30 days due to fortification plans being leaked by Sudeteland people.

@@matejbosela9093 I mean the Soviets also went around to all the allies trying to form an anti-nazi alliance but were rebuffed (future allies being more interested in appeasement). They also offered (from an existing military pact) to literally send an army to stop the Nazis in Czechoslovakia but the allies and countries such as Poland denied it fearing the communist influence they would bring in the area (especially if, from regular townspeople, they'd be seen coming in to Czechoslovakia as protectors against a Nazi invasion, their popularity in the region would likely have been more prominent.) It was after all this failed, and the awareness that the west was going to appease and sit back became solidified that Molotov-ribbentrop was pitched up to create a buffer, regain control of strategic territory lost from the polish invasion of the USSR during the late years of the Civil War, and also preempting and repressing the nationalist elements that worked with the White Army and so were seen to be more likely to collaborate with other nationalists in 5th columns. Basically to create a buffer and buy time to industrialize, militarize, and prepare for all out war. Stalin was talking about "we're 70years behind the more advanced countries and we need to make it up in 10 or 20 or they will crush us " in the early 30s

6:10 It might seem a little counterintuitive, but during WW2 some anti-aircraft guns proved effective against medium and light tanks. It probably has to do with the fact that AA have hard projectiles and high velocity.

Anti-air was used as impromtu anti-tank throughout WW2 (the flak 88 is... a flak gun after all) This was because of the velocity/rate they had to shoot at which caused them to accidentally be effective against tanks of the day.

The Czech focus tree is better than Spain’s because Spain has one of the worst and most boring focus trees added. And most of Spain’s tree is mutually exclusive so each path actually only has a small tree with a third of it being about the civil war.

AA units probably have some armor piercing because they are composed of 20-40mm guns, which can pack a mean punch against light or even medium tanks. Also, the PaK88 was originally an AA gun, remember. The US and Russians also converted heavy AA guns into heavy AT guns (90mm for the Americans and 85mm for the Russians)
