Surviving Baffin Bay On a Kayak | Texas Fishing Travels

I am traveling across the great state of Texas and the coastal waters to experience the awesome beauty this state has to offer. I am looking to document my travels and bring to you what I experience first hand through video.

I have heard many stories about the legendary Baffin Bay and the surrounding area bay systems. Located adjacent to the Laguna Madre. This complex bay system has one of the most hyper salinity levels the Texas Coast has to offer.
Baffin Bay and its surrounding areas is known to have big legendary Trophy Sea Trout. It also houses a diverse array of wildlife. It was an area that I've always wanted to visit. I had the opportunity to take the trip so I can experience first hand the amount of beauty this part of the Texas Coast has to offer to avid anglers like myself.

Baffin is world famous for texas sows..when several times when i was younger.i saw some insane stringers...EVERYTIME i went the wind went 20 to 25 30 mph.But man its incredibly beautiful and looks like fish would be everywhere..Get a map and do your homework.Its freakin remote and u have to be on your a game.. got stranded in the badlands with a bad lower unit on a borrowed boat..i had thrown an old cb in the boat i hadnt used in 10 years,just in case.when we got stranded a rig up power and use a landing net for an antenna.Took 5 hours but game wardens rescued up.Thank you Texas wardens,you guys rock.

He launched first at probably the safest spot (55). All along the shore line on the other side of it is rocks, you just gotta find the ones they’re on. Used too be great when drum point was open all the way 15 years ago. Fishing at night just hit the pier at riveria beach or Kaufer-Hubert

When u get your lithium ion batteries, u can launch from port Mansfield mainland via Raymondville tx n head to pot Mansfield jetty... Crazy action...bring some heavy gear.

Great video again, that is a really good place to fish. Further into bay system 4 in my boat filled 72 qt cooler in 2 hours. Smallest fish a 24 spec, many reds. Next February I will be going, boat can take kayaks. Maybe you are interested. Many trips planned next year, I taking my kayak on some. Thanks for the entertainment.

IT USED TO BE A GREAT FISHERY !I WAS USING "TROUT LURES" BACK IN THE 70'S .(PINK SOFT PLASTIC SPLIT TAIL ON A CHARTREUSE JIG HEAD.)I WAS NEARLY LAUGHED OUT OF THE BOAT UNTIL I STARTED SLAMMING THE SPECKLED TROUT ON THOSE JIGS. MOM ,DAD ASKED IF I HAD ANYMORE ...THAT WAS A GAS ! YOU WATCH FOR THE FLOCKS BIRDS TO START "HITTING THE WATER" GO AND FISH UNDER AND AROUND THEM .YOU CAN CATCH ANYTHING (JUST ABOUT). AWESOME VIDEO I DON'T THINK YOU CAN TAKE A KAYAK OUT THERE AS IT MAY BE A FAR TRIP. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES HAVE A SAFE TRIP HOME.

go to Rio Grande Valley Arroyo City Tomahe Park.. you have to pay to get into the park you can camp they're like 4 Piers that are lit all night with trout Under The Lights ..Google it

You put in and went the wrong direction you should have put in on the other side of the sand bar and cruised East I have caught both trout and Red PBR 27 inch trout and 28 inch red bait at the same exact spot different time of year. I have also witnessed a 30+ inch trout caught in the same area. I have seen people pull 48” reds there also

Surf wading is the best.i quit yaking in the surf.espescially in clear water.Outside the 2nd or 3rd bar the BIG men in gray suits will target kayak fisherman..they ll sit and watch from underneath for u to hookup.Never use a stringer out there theyll flip your boat ripping that stringer..if you been at it a while i know u use a fish bag....kayak on brother!!! im 63 and still yaking.
