Currently starting a DNP 36 month CRNA program. Relocating from the west coast to Pennsylvania with my wife and kids. We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. It has been done with many CRNAs and SRNAs I network with on social and professional platforms. Never let kids or family stop you because it can be done; in fact they are my WHY and fuel my fire. Be relentless in the pursuit of what makes your heart on fire! It’s great to hear your story because in ratio their isn’t that many of us with kids that take on such an endeavor but it only makes the journey so much more exciting and worth it. We are unicorns and I love how you embrace that and put with in my sails. Thank You! I can’t wait for the last first day of school of my life!

Thank you for your comment and sharing your experience. Support system in place is essential for success in school. It is great that you have your wife and children with you in school. All the sacrifice and diligence will be worth it in the end. I love being a CRNA.

Oh my gosh! I was just telling my boyfriend about how I didn’t know what to do about starting CRNA school in a few years, getting married, and having children. I feel so afraid that I won’t be able to accomplish my goals if I get married and have children before going back to school (I’m 27 turning 28 and a new grad ICU Nurse). WOW! You are amazing!! I am definitely going to put my fears aside and plan accordingly. I can do it too!!!

Hi 😊, So you are very inspiring. I am thinking of taking the plunge. I am a mom of 7. Baby is 8 weeks. I have PICU AND Peds CICU experience however, for the last 8 yrs I’ve worked part time as a sedation nurse in ped radiology. I have been considering returning to ICU and possibly applying to CRNA in a few years. Do you think I should get adult ICU experiences or is returning to Peds sufficient ? I appreciate your input.
@ThriveCRNA4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. You will need at least 1 year of adult ICU experience.

How many hours per day and week did you study?
@ThriveCRNA5 жыл бұрын
It varied from day to day, depending on clinicals or lectures. My first year was mostly lectures, I studied in between classes and on the weekends. Also, I had a newborn baby when I started CRNA school so my study habits were limited.

Would say approximately 8 hours per day?
