11: Kusarigama
As if a sharp sickle and a heavy iron weight were both not dangerous enough as separate weapons, the Japanese decided to combine those two with a metal chain, giving birth to the kusarigama. Kakute are small metal rings with spikes protruding from it, worn as a finger ring. These weapons are very much favored by the kunoichi, or female ninjas. The reason is that kakute rings are simple to use, and are concealable as they look like any other normal ring, but with spikes hidden inside the hand. Imagine brass knuckles, but with forward facing iron nails like bear claws. That's the tekko-kagi, a ninja weapon that has a close resemblance to the X-man Wolverine's protruding adamantium claws. If you think the tekko-kagi was scary enough, then you should take a look at the neko-te. It is also a claw like weapon, but worn like a glove, and with the blades protruding directly from the ends of the fingers much like a cat's claws. And that's exactly what the neko-te
7: Metsubushi
Metsubushis are the pepper sprays of the ninja world. The name translates to "crush the eyes", and is one thing a ninja's opponent should avoid at all costs when in a fight. The weapon could come in many forms, but are typically delivered from a small pipe that can be blown at an enemy, or from an egg shell that can be thrown

Many people know of the katana, the traditional Japanese sword used by samurai during ancient and feudal times. But ninjas also have their own version of the katana, known as ninjato. Compared to the swords carried by the samurai, ninjato were smaller in size and more compact in form. The overall length is usually less than 60 cm, and is relatively thick and straight with no curves
5: Fukiya
The fukiya is a type of blowgun used in Japan. The practice still exists today in modern Japan as a national sport similar to archery. However, fukiya was known in the past as a ninja's weapon, with numerous ninjutsu schools specializing in its use. Ninjas would often fire two inch long poison darts, or fukibari, from a concealed location. The dart itself is usually not enough to kill a target
4: Sai
Sai, the weapon familiar to those in the West as the weapon of choice for Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the female assassin Elektra from Marvel. Traditionally used on the islands of Okinawa, the sai is useful as both an offensive and defensive weapon. The weapon has a very distinctive look as a long pointed metal baton with two curved prongs projecting from the sides. Sai users practice a variety of fighting styles

The kunai is a dagger-like-weapon which serves as one of ninja's most basic but multi-functional weapons. You definitely can't talk about ninjas without mentioning shurikens. Shuriken literally translates to "sword hidden in user's hand", and are sometimes referred to as throwing stars in the West. They are crafted into many different shapes and sizes, usually with a hole at the center. Shurikens might be small, but are essential tools in a ninja's arsenal. They often serve a secondary role, as a nuisance or distraction when facing an enemy. A skilled user would target

the ninjato swords main thing is that it's shorter and thus quicker too the draw, in samurai's eyes, he who draws his weapon the quickest, normally wins the fight.... this guy didn't mention that so... yeah. i have a katana and a ninjato style katana on my wall, and ive proven that theory many of times as it is now fact, as it was in the 16th century. theres plenty of reasons why it should've existed, even IF (which it is very unlikely) it didn't. not too mention, ninjas basically came from farmers who used their tools in martial arts to defend from warlords and whatnot...

When I was really young and was into martial arts, I was given an opportunity for learning "weapon katas". I chose Kusari-gamas and bokken (sword). My instructor suggested Bo Staff and Jo Sticks because I could improvise them. I wanted the "looks cool, I want to be an action hero" katas. I even honed the skills so that I could show off them later in life with weapons in each hand. To this day, I never had a SINGLE opportunity to use those skill that is now virtually forgotten. I could have really used the skills my instructor told me about. Thankfully Jujutsu and Jeet Kun Do have an improvised weapon thing along with the really good proto-MMA hand to hand skills. Never let a young person decide what he is to learn. The youngster will go for what he/she thought was good in some entertainment medium or something else that impressed them, nothing real-world useful for the most part.

Fun fact: the Shuriken was actually used by samurai rather than ninja due to the iron being too expensive. At the end of the day ninjas weren’t actually assassins but rather just spies. Their main eject it was just get in, get the information and get the hell out. Just because they could defend themselves doesn’t mean they did. In fact they tried to avoid combat if possible.

Poisen cant be attatched to every weapon, for the following reason: - If the weapon is used in a combat situation where you have the risk if damaging yourself with your own weapon it aint a good idea to poison it... - Also you need to roughen the surface of the weapon to get poison to stick (depending on the kind) that roughening isnt always good for your weapon as it could effect the sharpness and thus the effectiveness - why would you? poisons do kill but slowly. Venom can lose it's potency rather quickly, and if your poison takes 30-40 hours to kill someone then it's useless for a fight that wont last 5 minutes Add to that, that poisons are very labor intensive to obtain, to target a single individual would be a waste of time, poison therefor would be way more effective to use when put in drinkwater, whine or food.

Tie some rope to the pommel ring of a Kunai and you will have a Kunai dart rope. The rope makes it so that when you throw the Kunai, it won't have any rotation and will fly straight also known as a zero rotation/spin throw among other names. The rope acts as a counter balance and (should if used correctly) stay straight and true upon executing the throw. The rope is also handy (no pun intended) for pulling the Kunai back to you after you hit your target or even miss. It's actually surprisingly easy to throw without mistake. In my own experience, it's easier to throw correctly than if you were to purposely put spin on it. Again, it's thanks to the rope for keeping it so stable in flight. Think of Scorpion from mortal kombat. If your Kunai has any kind of "gut hooks" on the edges (which can be easily done to any pre-existing Kunai via simple bevel/sharpening skills) and you hit your target hard enough to pentetrate the skin, the gut hooks can help pull your opponent back to you... Or rip out of the target completely and do immense damage. Either way, you can still pull the kunai back to you (in an ideal situation of course). Larger ones can be used for grappling too but I would highly recommend modifying said blade for grappling or just buy one specifically made for grappling. But I'm definitely not trying to grapple and climb with a regular kunai dart rope.

A lot of these weapons were used by other types of valiants, not just Ninja. Kusarigama - Chain Sickles are a weapon used by many cultures, including Medieval Europe. However, the disciplines vary greatly from one region to another. Kakute Rings - Anything related to brass knuckles was invented by the eastern Europeans, but these took a completely different and unique spin on the idea. Tekko-Kagi, Neko Te - Bladed gauntlets, gloves, weapons worn on the hand were used by a lot of different cultures and are related to brass knuckles. Probably my favorite of these is the concealed wrist dagger that goes under the palm which allows you to grab the area in which you wish to inflict damage on to inflict even more damage. Metsubushi - Smoke Grenades, Pepper Blasts, and the like fall under Minor Pyrotechnics, similar to the M 80s we buy for the Fourth of July. But unlike most of the weapons in this list, Eastern Asia came up with Pyrotechnics first. Ninjato - Some claim this to be Hollywood made. Not true, but the name 'Ninjato' is somewhat inaccurate for this weapon never had an actual name, nor was one necessary. It is not a katana, but a single edge claymore with katana crafting and adornments, as well as modifications to the weight and balance to allow ease of dual wielding. Fukiya - Blow dart guns have been in use by everyone really, since...forever. Nothing more to explain. Just don't inhale until your mouth is away from the weapon. Oh, and don't take a full breath to use the weapon because too much air pushing through will cause the weapon to shoot incorrectly (and that can be bad). Sai - Variants of this weapon were used in many different regions; the double ended dagger is actually a relative of the Sai, if a bit distant but the idea is roughly the same as a dual purpose weapon. The Sai is also one of my favorites because of the Epée being very closely related (and I love the thrusting family of swords). Kunai - I cannot imagine a better balanced weapon for multi-purposing. As many variations in size, shape and crafting, such a beautiful weapon is difficult to find anymore. The Kunai is one weapon that did manage to remain bound to a small number of regions, but still has style influences elsewhere (like the throwing knives used in the circus acts which started in Europe in the seventeenth century). Poison - This versatile weapon, double edged at best, is something that is universally renowned. End of story. Oh, and I wouldn't take a sip of that tea if I were you. Shuriken - Like the Kunai and other throwing weapons, there are many variants of this weapon, but even Europeans would claim that they were 'of the Orient', which would seemingly win the hearts of maidens many....liars. Another one of my favorite weapons, my preference lying in either the four-spiked or the jagged eight-spike variations (the eight-spiked shuriken being a pain to remove especially if embedded deep in the flesh and causing injury upon removal as well as bleeding). Cal Trops - Setting traps for a pursuer is a lot of fun, just don't step on your own, dumbass.
