Amazing trip. Did the first trip of the season on the Middle Salmon years ago. You never forget the first time that freezing water hits your face. Let alone when you find yourself out of the boat even with a wetsuit on.

Lots of gold in that Boise River. Dredging is now prohibited but down deep lay the placer deposits.

Not a fan of large camping groups. But I like rafting this river, it's a treasure that's close to Boise and the surrounding area.

Craig, generally I agree, but this was the 25th consecutive year that we've done this weekend of camping, rafting, stories, etc. The group grows a little each year and now stretches from Salt Lake, Pocatello, Burley, to Boise. This river is a true treasure for sure.

@@timgunderson3571 Thats exactly why I prefer small groups. But to each his own.

The flow was 4230 cfs, the highest any of us had ever floated it in our more than 25 years of running this river. It's actually kind of big in some areas at that flow!

It made Buffalo look a bit simpler to navigate, true? Or is that just movie magic? I've never run it anywhere near that cfs!

@@SethNeal No movie magic! Buffalo wasn't too bad but is always a notable rapid. Not everyone had as good of run as Kevin in the green boat, he pretty much nailed it, but all had respectable runs. I think the biggest wave was in Logjam (Jonathan was in my boat), although there were big waves in many places. It was a rowdy float for sure!
