It would make a lot more sense to land nearer the equator. More sun. And the planets rotation will help reduce the extra oomph to achieve escape velocity if and when somebody wants to leave the planet.

They make the concrete, and you need specific materials to make good concrete.

I pick all my concrete from the concrete bush which grows in the shade of my brick tree, near my trellis of glass vines. Only thing I dig from the ground is wood from the wood mine!

Concrete is made from aggregate (gravel and such) and cement binder, which in turn is mostly made of limestone as well as several other minerals. So you wouldn't mine concrete, but you could mine the bulk of materials required.

amazing ship. Has all the fuel for the flight and a full powered landing and room for the rovers and the resources. 'With that level of technology you wonder why Mars isn't already colonized. Otherwise it's nice. A bit like Aven Colony.

Mars has an average air pressure of around 6 millibar, compared to Earth's 1014 millibar. Because of this, wind-based energy would be almost completely unusable on Mars. The potential output would be extremely extremely low compared to the cost of building and maintaining generators. That's why I am a tad disappointed to see wind generators in the game, at least if they are useable on a planet that is supposed to be Mars, and not any Mars-like analogue.

Mhh.. On second thought, the air pressure around the turbine will also be low, så there will be little resistance for the turbine to move through, making it require little force to spin. So, it would probably be useful to use solar panels for sunny seasons, and wind power for the global dust storm seasons.
