Thanks again to Paradox for the sponsorship on this one. Genuinely surprised at the amount of big brain activity required and how much more open it was than I originally expected. Since it was my first time trying it, I didn't spend as much time on the extra stuff, but you can check out the new DLC, Below and Beyond, here: rebrand.ly/AmbiguousAmphibian

My head cannon for 1)why terraforming is so quick, 2)why superpowers made missions that are barely more resourceful than random companies and 3)why colonists aren't the best of the best is that _all other landing sites you haven't chosen, are also used by other missions._ So that's like 300-500 sites(can't recall how many grids there are) and superpowers have to split between them. Which means there are thousands of rockets and almost a million people working on it daily crashing more ice asteroids, nuking ice caps and releasing modified life forms 24/7... plus the game time obviously runs much faster with how colonists die of old age. So yeah, with such a scale maybe it's possible in century instead of 500-5000 years.

The AA support group really came in handy with the alcoholic problem on Mars. Not that Paradox was helping.

the double opened airlock doors are a realism breaker for sure, but I prefer that speed over the alternative of one person at a time through the airlock that some games have.

Thank God I have a much superior version of the game - more specifically the version before the last DLC. I get less bugs, and more gameplay. Game is rad, dope, and absolutely awesome, life's good. As a proof, my domes don't have renegades, everyone is absolutely happy.

I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at something that I cried. Great job and sense of humor. I'm sure my wife didn't appreciate me giggling like a school girl on my side of the couch, but this made my month and I'll likely end up getting the game.

I've been trying to figure out what makes these videos so charming, and I think I've finally got it. His narration is very similar to that of an informational video from the 1950s.

It is possible, though. You just have to go HARD into science and rapid expansion. And even then 100% terraforming won't happen for a long while - vegetation is ridiculously slow and can't really be rushed like heat, atmosphere and water.

We‘ll improve the integrity of our power grid - goes ahead and places even more lines that can break 🤣 A piece of advice from someone who sunk a couple of hundreds of hours into this game: the fewer line and pipes you place the better. You can go completetly without powerlines, but need only exactly one pipe hex to connect water / oxygen buildings.

Solar and wind power would both be unviable on mars. 1. Mars is far away from the sun meaning that it only gets about 30% of the solar power. 2. Solar power is often blocked on mars for days by dust storms. 3. Despite the frequent dust storms mars actually has very little to offer in terms of wind power, the atmosphere is very thin, only 1% of earth's.
