The plan was simple, a solo hike and wild camping adventure in the heart of Wales tackling the challenge of the Welsh big four: Fan y Big, Corn Du, Cribyn and Pen y Fan, all towering above the enchanting landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The journey started under stunning blue skies, encountering inquisitive bullocks, majestic Welsh mountain ponies and skittish sheep along the way.
On Mother Natures whim the weather soon took a dramatic turn, unleashing thick fog, howling winds and relentless rain! Soggy was not the word, and put both my gear and spirit to the test.
The Lanshan tent performed amazingly well and was perfect for this trip, helping to keep the pack weight down. Wringing my boxers out on night one was definitely not one of the highlights though!
Spirits were definitely lifted savouring the crunkle juice from Northern Monk with their DDH IPA and Vocation Imperial Chocolate & Banana Stout, two of my favourite producers of some very tasty boozy goodness that warms the cockles.
The Wellington Bomber wreckage and monument were a particularly moving sight and a very grounding to see.
As always thanks for watching!
