Thanks for the comments everyone, it's great incentive to keep creating when people appreciate the content as genuinely as you do. Also, for those concerned, there's a couple of things I'd like to address ... Albania and it's people ... Like all of the Balkans - Albanian people were really friendly in the few instances we interacted with them at fuel stations etc. As for the scenario at the Sheperds camp, you simply had to be there. The actual origin of these guys as well as their agenda was unclear. There was some uneasy conversation unfolding and we simply made the call to leave. Bears and wolves... Yess, I'm a total sissy and fish out of water in this department. Didn't help that one of the dogs at the sheperds camp was badly injured from Wolf or Bear attack the previous night. I also found another sheperd closer to town, locked inside his car with a light flooding the area around his car to deter them. We were 100% in active bear and wolf country and it was obvious the local people in the area locked themselves indoors at night. Tyre levers and hectic schedule... We started this trip in the north of Austria the second I finished filming the 2023 890R video with KTM, which was a Sunday evening. I was prepping the '22 890 (which I rode in this video) whenever I had 5-min up my sleeve during the shoot. KTM had some tyre levers for me to borrow but I simply forgot to pack them. As for the hectic schedule, we were only able to loan these bikes for 5-days for this film as KTM needed them back for their Adventure Rally in France. We had to have them dropped off at a dealership in Athens on the Friday of that week. Drone shots... I do all my own drone shots with the help of tracking modes. There is no cameraman, I set up all ground shots with tripod etc. Thanks again for the support everyone, I really appreciate your feedback of my films, it helps keep me grinding away out there to bring these productions to life. I love it but it's also really hard work to maintain this level, so feel free to subscribe and share this video ... it'd be a great help! Adam

Hi Adam, i'm a croatian living in switzerland, my wife was born not far from the spring calling Earth Eye. We go there several times a year. I discover Dalmatian Zagora (Dalmatian backland) by riding my ‘89 Super Ténéré 750. For the sake of objectivity, the eye of the Earth or the source of the river Cetina is about 180m deep, the words like "no one knows how deep it is" increase the spirit of adventure, which is ok. And yes, whole Croatia and especially Dalmatian Backland are really heaven for adventure bikes. Chers from Switzerland ❤

Great edit Adam. I think you were exaggerating with the threat of wolves and bears, in my opinion, riding without daylight in those extreme rocky trails is way more dangerous. I have been many nights camping solo in Albania and never heard or saw any hint of them wild animals. They are generally afraid of humans and unless they are carrying or have cubs and get them surprised, there is no problem whatsoever. Any mountain or military training will teach you that. While riding with a buddy he had a bad fall while crossing a land slide and dislocated his shoulder in the middle of nowhere in Albania. I had to go find help to the nearest shepherd house, isolated and using Google translate, he not only arranged a 4x4 truck to rescue my friends bike, they offered us coffee and raki while waiting the rescue through a downpour. I had also help from a random guy to fix my bent coolant pipes after I dropped the bike against the rocks in Lure lakes, and they didn't want any compensation. I have only met with the nicest of people in rural Albania and I think your fears about the land are a tad unfounded and unfair, maybe due to the stereotypes driven by click hungry mass media. As you said in the end of the video, you are not in trouble until you actually are. Keep the good work!

Wonderful Adam! I'll just add one more comment, from my experience deep off the beaten track: TRUST YOUR GUT. If something feels wrong, it probably is. As you said "keep moving". You will often feel something wrong but then quickly try to rationalize and tell yourself you're "overthinking" it. Learn to trust that instinct more than your overthinking at times, and you'll get through most things! Wonderful story here, thanks for this one!

Albania is not a bad land , I can guarantee you it’s one of the most safest places for a tourist in Europe, even if u decided to sleep with the shepherds nothing would have happened to you guys or your KTM’s , they’re just shepherds summering their livestock in the mountains during summer time, they aren’t hiding.

After 50 years on the planet I have yet to be chased by wolves or bears on my motorcycle. Granted, I've never been lost in Albania 🇦🇱 but in my experience wild animals tend to steer clear of fast and loud noise making machines with lights if they can help it. Nice adventure riding in wild countryside.

@@bossnian5615 Yeah, my thoughts exactly. They call it true adventure, others call it getting into stupid situations by not being prepared at all... crossing a national border and not even knowing which one it is? Do they even know how to read a map? It's either massively overdramatized or they really should not be doing this kind of stuff because they'll just get themselves into stupid situation where they'll rely on other people's help that could have been avoided by being at least minimally prepared....

Interesting comment at the beginning - the difference between an adventure rider and an itinerary rider (yes, I booked all hotels in advance, and strictly on tarmac only) 😀 I am actually following the itinerary approach … and enjoying it thoroughly. Well, at least my bike is called “Super Adventure S” … for me this itinerary adventure is perfect as it is. And I admire how others do “real” adventures. Greetings from Switzerland

It's an adventure as soon as it feels adventorous to you! That can be at the south pole or it can be in your neighboring town and it can be survival for weeks in the wilderness outside of civilization or it can be finding out how cold your fingers get when crossing the alps. I don't understand this dismissive attitude from the video. Makes the authors seem to me like massive show-offs...

Gday mate. Ive watched your videos for a long time and just catching up on these adventure ones. My mum came from Yugoslavia before it was all split up and ive always wanted to travel to see the countries there and wanted to see the country side of it not the touristy side of things, and these series are amazing, ive even showed the video to my mum who is not a motorbike rider infact doesnt like me riding but she loved every minute of the videos (and being not tech savy herself loved the style you have done it as) and id like to thankyou for the efforts you go to on your own to produce such great quality stuff like this to see the side of places tourist shows dont show. I ride motorcross and enduro and street bikes but watching your videos i have set myself a goal to get an adventure bike and at least do some trips in Australia in my lifetime the way you have set it, no itinerary, just locations to go and enjoy the ride. Capeyork being number one, as ive driven it but always wanted to ride it. Thanks again mate keep up the great work.

Hi! I have watched many of your videos and I can say that they are well done both in terms of story telling and filming. But precisely during your adventure in Albania, I was very disappointed by the tendentious way of speaking about the country you were traveling to. I don't know where this contempt comes from, but I assure you that you are wrong about the people who live there. They are really poor but also proud and offer to help with their hearts, this has been proven several times by me. And I think you were exaggerating, considering that this is not the first time you have had these kinds of adventures!

Guys, you make me laugh, two grown ups riding loud bikes in parks and you talk about it like climbing an Everest :D :D Not a hate comment, but I have done that on foot when I was 18..., just a tent across mountains of Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro. And you talk about bears when riding a motorcycle or suspicious people when you are in two. This is hilarious and extremly sad at the same time. And I am still no older than you, it perception has changed.

"Adventure riding is about having no fear" - Oh no we are lost! Rocks! Wolves! Bears! People! Ahhhhh! Seriously bad advice you don't even seem to follow. Fear is natural and essential for humans to survive. Ignoring it is stupid. As a fellow ADV rider who has done a lot of miles on his own, you need to manage and temper fear. If you are in a situation that feels uncomfortable, listen to your fear and use some "street smarts" and common sense. If you are around suspicious people, leave. People are by far the most dangerous unknown in ADV riding. In Albania to fear bears and wolves is just silly. Making camp would have been better than riding those roads at night. A fire would have kept them at bay. However, if you must press on, learning how to calm down and focus is very important and you seem to have done that.

Nice ride however I need to share the following message with you. There is something that seems disturbing to me. It is possible that my point of view is completely wrong from yours. Nevertheless, this is how I perceived it and I must say it was not positive at all. Did those shepherds do anything to humiliate you publicly? Did they show harmful intentions towards you or your bikes? Did you give them a chance to tell their story publicly? And why do you put such a big emphasis on "Albanians" when you say sharing a tent with them? If you want to trust your instincts that is fine and you should do so but who gives you the right to pick 5 random guys and make them the bad guys in your story besides the wolves and the bears? Whatever their story is, you took it, shredded their identity, and created some garbage. I did like your video up to the point you started to talk about those people who are working hard for their food. At least that is all you showed us, isn't it? And also the words F***** and Albania are not very nice to share with your followers and the rest of the world. Albania is a country with a rich history and not a single country can be cursed like that. If you are searching for adventure, I advise you to be humble in every country you go in. You never know who you will meet and at least you show the correct example and inspirational messages to other adventure seekers among us.
