A personal journey, a race that did not go to plan! Some scenery, some aid stations, some running, a lot of walking.

Is that the kind of inspiration that makes you look up next year's entry details? 😀If not it would certainly make a great hike

Typical kiwi modesty! Completing any 100km race is a hell of an achievement, completing that one - the elevation, the technical challenges and the weather - is remarkable. Great video. Thanks for such a frank perspective... I still want to have a go myself, I think!

Huge effort mate! Congratulations on completing a mind boggling race. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing. Glad you got your feet patched up at the medical tent and bounced back to finish well!

Congrats! Are there mandatory qualifying races required to sign up for the CCC?

Sort of, you need to do a qualifying race in the UTMB series, basically something of a similar distance or difficulty. Then you get a certain number of points for each race you do, each point gives you an entry into the lottery. All the races in the UTMB world champs week are oversubscribed, so there's no direct entry unless you're a pro.
