In Canada using a gun to defend yourself is illegal, only the government can do that, not the citizen. Therefore 'still being able to shoot' doesn't apply here because other than hunters and the odd sports shooter, nobody owns firearms up here, except the criminals.

I agree but that's also really difficult sometimes. My father in law will be passing away in a few days ( I'm happy for him to be going Home ) However, my mother in law, with level 8 dementia will be difficult to care for if SHTF happens and the workers and nurses no longer show up to her facility. We'll have to find a way to get her to my house ( 30 miles away ) and she's wheelchair bound, on a catheter , uses diapers for other things, and can't feed herself or shower. I'm trying to gear myself up for possibly taking her on but whew ! - it's going to take ALOT ! Seriously, I have a hard enough time cleaning up dog poop - I gag and throw up. Taking care of a disabled person .... that's a whole nother level. I'm not a CNA for a reason. Sometimes taking people in is easier said than done.

@@libertyandjustus8258 Those of us who take this seriously have no misgivings about any of the coming changes being easy. In fact, we know that most of it will be very hard. All of of our lives will be profoundly changed. Quality of life as we know it will be for the most part...gone. We're all going to have to learn to adapt to the changes and do the best we can. Taking care of an elderly person with dementia by yourself will be a challenge. Perhaps a friend or neighbor in the community can help if you do take her in. I was not aware that there were 8 stages. I always thought there were only 7. I don't believe that SHTF is going to be a sudden and total collapse of everything everywhere all at once. That would lead to chaos that the 'powers' are unable to control, and the whole point of them doing what they're doing is to gain total control. Yes, there will be disruptions, disturbances, and worsening criminal activities, but we will still have order of some kind and people who want money will continue to show up for work into the foreseeable future, though they may be working with fewer resources. I think that the nursing home will continue to be there for a while.

@@libertyandjustus8258 I took care of my mother- in- law for years and her dementia was horrible. I got no help. She got placed in a nursing home. Then I got stuck with the father-in-law. Disabled for 24 years after on the job broken spine, fighting is required for folks in this category, thank God for his Grace everymoment of the day. Now with my wife of 34 years Disabled and suffering dementia, life is simply surviving daily. And its damn hard! Good pensions make the difference for us but for folks with only SS Lord I can't imagine how y'all are surviving? Especially with the demoncrats economy and self destruction policies. I feel devastated for the youth of our country, it's like all of the sacrifices of those who came before we're all for nought. I pray fervently for our Father to send the Savior and take us home while dad cleanses the earth again. This planet is covered in Darkness and so is our country, and the Lord is the world's only hope. 🙏 I feel like this anyway. Pharmaceuticals are not the answer to our problems, hell we don't even make/produce our own medications, God only knows what the Chinese and Indians are peddling? I wish everyone would try to bring as many souls to Christ as they can before time is up. Good luck to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Good morning, Travis. I am a prime example of what you are talking about today. I am 51 years old and overweight. But I have taken active steps to change that in my life. And this is the key, we have to make the change. If one is able change can happen. I know all about limitations. Using me as an example I was diagnosed with Diabetes, but I did not accept that diagnoses. God and I got together and with his help he has turned that around. I have been working hard to eat right, exercise, and change the way I think about myself and what I eat. I used to weigh in at 400 lbs., but now I am at 298 lbs. I once was diagnosed with Diabetes now things are normal. Why, because I changed my mind. It can happen, everyone is different but if we want to change, change starts with us. Just want to encourage others. Thank you, Travis, for this video today. Keep exercising and eating well everyone. Train, train, train. Stay Vigilant, Stay Prepared, Faith Is Our Shield!

So... Here's my presentation. My wife and I are 56 & 57. I am handicapped, (lost one leg below the knee) . My wife is disabled. She lost the tips of some of her fingers due to gangrene and she has fibromyalgia. I am retired army and forcibly retired truck driver. My wife is a retired cook who is more comfortable cooking for many people rather than just me and her. I don't see us as being on the front line kind of thing but I can hunt, train and operate as back up as well as doing a few other things. My wife can sew and do other things as well. The words give up don't exist for us. At the moment, due to finances, we are not prepped up yet. Emphasis on yet. However, we do feel that we would be an asset to whatever community we end up in. The older I Get, the younger I used to be lol. Thanks for reading.

If you're elderly or disabled, you can still be very valuable to a tribe. In addition to skills or education you may already have, you can do household chores, assist with watching kids, provide intercessary prayer. Perhaps most importantly, you can be a lookout for the tribe - taking shifts so others can rest. Just don't lie about what you can do or what you're willing to do, as the tribe would rely on you for survival.

Other cultures value the elderly for their wisdom and knowledge. Life is a journey and when we are young we view time differently. I remember Dad telling me that first you think you know everything. Then, when you are 50, you realize there is so much you want to know but you will not live long enough to learn all of it. Right before he passed at 83, he said he wasn't ready yet. There was still some things he wanted to do.
@de14jabs

#1 goal if you're older should be to share your knowledge and story. It may not be your fault, but to help make amends for the resentment that the young harbour as their future was taken from them, you putting an effort to ease or erase that will return ten fold in your favour when you really need it. Either mentor a young adult to increase the younger generations chances later on and your chances through the catastrophes that will befall us or write a memoir with everything you want to pass on to the next generations to help out. "A noble effort Is when one plants a tree knowing they will not enjoy the shade it provides". I'm caught in the middle seeing both sides, be the example of what needs to be in order to ensure that the future is not as grim as it could be, you owe it to the next generations as those before you have done for you.

I'm getting closer and closer to doing this and one of my biggest motivations is to set the example for my teenage sons. Things may or may not collapse in our lifetime, but they will eventually and teaching them more skills for them to use and/or pass on down the family line is what I think about often. That and create a more peaceful life for myself.

Travis, a few weeks ago, as a 73 year old woman, I jackhammered an 8'X8'X10" slab. I moved that 2 ton of concrete to the dump by hand. I also moved - set - and leveled a 10X8 shed from one yard to the other, with its four 500 lb slabs. I agree - our ability has a lot to do with mind over matter and preparing both our bodies and minds. Most of all, the key is to have a relationship with Yeshua/Jesus. He WILL, through the Holy Spirit, guide, teach, and assist us. He will even send help when we are at the end of ourselves. He will also send us to help others. Shalom & Ahava Y'all

At 78, with limited health issues, although I am dismayed at the effects of the policies which liberalism has had, the integrity of the processes of representative government being highly suspect, "one day at a time" is the reality, and self-reliance and independence are conditional. I won't be a soldier in a civil war against foreign, invader-criminals. But I will be supporting fellow, American citizens who will. Government is failing to provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, ensure domestic tranquility, or secure the blessings of liberty. This election of 2024 is about those things. Trump 2024!!

We're 59 and 60, and both disabled. Hubs is still working an outside job. We knew our time of full productivity was coming to a close five years ago, so we started making changes around our place to help us as we age.

Why be gentle!?!? There is nothing gentle about old age! It's a brutal time of life! Reality isn't the little old lady sitting on her porch in a rocker. Let's be real!

Pete's wife here. Be careful of old ladies in the rocking chair on the porch. Some of us are locked and loaded all while we are knitting a pair of socks or a sweater. Love and joy to all, God Bless and keep moving forward with your preps.

Get your FFL03. Took me 1 full day of paperwork, $130, and 6 weeks of waiting. Now I purchase everything online and ships directly to me. Starting July 1 the 11% additional tax is gonna hit us hard if purchased locally.

Husband is 74 and pretty much worn out physically from hard work but we still try to keep going. I'm 63. We made raised garden beds to help out, we have chickens and goats. I have medical background as well. We have planned over the years for the worst and hope for the best. I do feel like we probably won't survive a total SHTF situation if we are on our own. My son lives about a mile up the road. Our home on a dead end road will be the place to be, so hopefully we can survive together. I feel like my husband and I still have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to our grandchildren.

The older ones have knowledge. They can teach. The right things. There may be communities that want schooling. They can feed animals start seeds cook etc.

If you don't keep using the muscle you will lose it and be disabled before you even know it. Keep moving forward, prepare like your life depends on it, because it does. Love be joyful and pray a lot. Keep the faith strong and enjoy your life. God will always be by our side helping us get through this hot mess. Love and joy to all, God Bless you and your family.

67, live in a small city. Do have raised beds in tiny back yard space and starting my veggies. Northerner here so not as far as you southerners. Would love to move to country but not an option.

A Marine officer once said the most terrifying thing on a battlefield is a young, pissed off Marine. I’m 68 and still remember everything they taught me in marksmanship school.

Not near as terrifying as an old man who out thinks you at every turn, shoots far better than you do. WISDOM AND TREACHERY OUT DOES YOUTH AND STUPIDITY EVERY TIME.

Some days this life kicks my butt. That crawling around on the ground just is not a real good time for me. Mothers day I put brakes on my better half car. It left a mark lol then I unloaded a hay trailer and stacked it up then spent another day hauling goat magic to the garden with the tractor. Milking everyday still but it's tough on a farm to get behind. I walk alot on this place so I guess I do ok. My bp runs 110 over 70 most mornings because I move I still carry sacks of feed and cement and I am still building. I'm 69 in July my better half is soon to be 65 and it's all I can do to keep up with her. Catching a deer is easier than keeping up with her lol.

You can always fast and pray. I always think we don't have that much time. Hopefully when the PHTF it goes fast for all of us. We just have to be strong and brave for a short time and it will be over.
