Maybe not. Nikki I would love for you to someday meet up with Mountain Man Mike of KZbin's Riding Shotgun channel. He's about your Dad's age and has been a truck driver most of his life, known for his ability in driving in horrific snow conditions. He does a lot of really interesting videos of being "on the road again". Especially the loneliest one. Think it might be a meeting, and video worth doing for all us "roadies." Thanks, be safe on the road and keep up the great work!

I used 50 to get home from Grand Junction and it was a nightmare since I did it at night. Longest scariest journey. I filled my gas tank near eastern border. Now it was so stressful at night watching out for all the wildlife. Wild horses, deer, elk, cows, coyotes, etc... my eyes were straining to avoid a collision. I did find a casino cafe on the way that saved me with a burger. Best part of the trip was finally getting back to civilization at sunrise entering western Nevada. Big state.

Oh man, those hot springs bring back some of my absolute favorite memories. I got out of the Air Force in 2016 and did a huge road trip around the Southwest with a friend, and one of the last true wild spots we hit was there, right outside of Austin. It was in April, the mountains were all still snow capped, and it was right after a snow storm had rolled through the area, the roads were all that horrible sticky mud, and we just decided to camp there for the night. We were in the water until probably 1am just staring at the incredibly bright stars, telling stories. Finally made it to sleep, and was very rudely awoken at 3am to something poking my tent -- a wild donkey. Imagine the surprise when not only did I yell, so did the Donkey, hee-hawing into the night. I barely got any more sleep, but it's something I'll remember for the rest of my life hahaha!

Exactly what i was thinking. Way to much "coincidences" for this trip. Also the "random" encounter with a subsciber that knows her channel. Does she think we are stupid? Also the permanent grin is so unnatural. Like she is amazed anew again every single second. Dont get me wrong, i like happy people. But this is definetly a bit too much. Its surely great, but cant be THAT great. In real life things never always go as perfectly lilke in this video.

@@m.j.9318 Nikki has 763,000 subscribers, so it's not that hard to believe a subscribers would accidently meet her. I follow a lot of other channels with less than half her subscribers and they meet subscribers all the time on the road. A friend of mine who only has 5,000 subscribers says he's met more than one subscribers also. As to the "permanent grin", you do know she used to be a model AND an NFL cheerleader don't you? Those 2 professions pretty much requires a "permanent" grin. LOL! So, no it's not fake, that's just Nikki.😁

Ok Nikki, as a truck driver I've got to Nitpick. It's not a gas tank. You don't put gas in it.. It's a fuel tank, you put diesel fuel in it. They are two entirely different things. Your van will not run on gasoline just like your Prius you had will not run on diesel fuel.

When we go to Tahoe from The Land of Oz we go Highway 50 Old Highway 50 the entire way. If it says old or new 50 on the map I always choose old 50. I like the most direct route possible and that's the only way you're going to get there. I think our next thing we're going to do is start in San Francisco and take old 50 all the way to the East Coast.

We also went into the cave there. It was awesome! The first night I stayed in the little town outside the National Park I had to listen to young calves who were taken away from their mothers call out all night long keeping me awake! The next night I stayed across town!

Thank you for sharing some amazing places in Nevada. I've seen so many videos of RVers, Vanlifers and such that just blow past the deserts of Nevada saying things like "there's really nothing to do in Nevada". There is so much to do here if you look past the lights and glitter of the cities. I'm born and raised Nevada, lived here all my life and neither of us have barely seen our own state. Took a detour along highway 50 from Fallon, spending the night in Ely, to just over the Utah state line, before turning north and following the dirt trails of the Pony Express route, all the way up to West Wendover. Highway 50 could definitely could qualify for 'loneliest road', but i didn't see a single soul for 150 miles once off the loneliest road.

I've been there, but just as part of a road trip to Lake Tahoe. The road was still pretty lonely, with a gnarly rest area we never want to visit again along the way.

Yay 😊😊😊. I live on highway 50 in Southwest Ks. Near the Colorado border. It’s where it turns into 50 400 or 54 400 from Wichita to Coolidge Ks. My father grew up in Coolidge Ks, and my Mother in Holly Colorado. Both border towns. In Coolidge there is a museum about the history during and after the Civil war. It during the time of Quantro’s Raids. Highway is part of the Santa Fe trail in Kansas as well. It’s where everyone chooses to go North and South on highway 83, or go East or West on 50.

There's actually a secret gubment facility nearby where I use to work at. If your lucky you get to see the Top Gun trainees fly around in jets bombin stuff. Your video brought back flashbacks of my history there. Would have been nice to have been with you. Should be kind of cold this time of year. Surprised you wasn't wearing something warmer. Lot of lonely NAVY guys near where you were at Fallon Naval Air Training Station. (Where Top Gun moved to from the 80's of Tom Cruise movie fame...)

Surprised you didn't see any wild mustangs, cows or deer. That part of Nevada is soemthin else.

I was traveling on that road a long time ago in June. There was some sort of migration of beetle. It was crazy because at first it looked like the road was moving. Then we hit it and bug guts were caked on the wheel wells and undercarriage. Recommend avoiding during that time if those migrations are still happening.
