I'm a mechanic and refurbish motorcycles for fun. I don't recommend using high octane fuel in that thing. Octane is to help minimize preignition (engine knocking). If you use it on an engine that does not have preignition problems then you can cause the engine to misfire with high octane fuel. I had a customer put 93 octane in his motorcycle and it kept stalling out and backfiring. I flushed it out and put 87 octane in it and it ran fine again. Also use Ethanol Shield brand fuel additive. It will help reduce ethanol based issues. I use it in my motorcycles and they always fire right back up after sitting for a few months. Hope that helps😉

I think I would have just tipped the hot tub over onto the ground and built a fire over it. You don't have to melt all the water; you just have to melt it enough for the big block to fall out. Lift the tub off and let the chunk of ice set there until spring.

Tons of videos and content on the web about those. Many others have already chimed in on some of the key points of those machines. (oil change, fuel type use) Another point is wiring in a fan in the engine compartment because they tend to overheat. And yet another is swapping the teeth on the bucket to the top side. They should not be below the cutting edge but above. Enjoy your purchase and save your back. I can relate 100%.

GM Ryan, I'll be surprised if you can dig but maybe the ground is not frozen solid. hopefully you'll be able to move things, clean up and fix your trails. Congrats! Put the blade down on the ground when your using it gives you more support. Tonka toy for grownups! Two observations/questions. Can you swing around backwards so the blade is behind you? If so, it lengthens the effective track lever arm and will probably reduce the rocking when you dig. The other thing is when moving several things farther than you can swing, setting up halfway and moving from one side to the other, then moving the excavator once and moving them by swinging again might optimize speed. Excavators necessarily suffer from slow tracks, so any combination of operations that minimize track movements seems faster. OWTM showed a pond clean out where he bailed the mud out of the pond into a pile as far as he could reach, then set up above the pile and bailed it one more step, then he set up above that one and bailed the pile one more step to where he wanted it.

Frozen sawdust. During WWII a project was started off the coast of Alaska and in the North Sea to create aircraft carriers out of Frozen sawdust and take them into the Theater of war for battle and then back to the frozen climes to keep from thawing. Initial tests indicated the pykrete carriers were as strong or stronger than steel and did not thaw very quickly. Don't feel bad if breaking up frozen sawdust is too difficult for that little machine. This is a game changer for you.

I still think an in-the-cabin intake vent opening near the ceiling coming down to a closable port to the doghouse with a slow speed fan, and a barrier blanket hanging on the exterior doorway to the doghouse, you could pump a bit of cabin warmth into the doghouse without losing much and Keiper might hang out in there when its nap time. He can hear what going on. Maybe a low long skinny window on the one wall so he can see when he's laying down.

It actually takes a pretty decent sized machine to work frozen ground, so don't be surprised this thing can't do much with it. It'll be great for digging trenches in the summer and of course moving logs. You'll find you need to put the dozer blade behind you when you're trying to break out compacted ground.
@RudyFisher4 күн бұрын
Just think what it’s gonna do when the ground is not frozen you’re gonna be better off with it and everything you’ll be getting things done quicker faster, and easier. I think most of them are regular unleaded, gas or you can use ethanol free because it usually a Kohler engine Honda engine or Briggs & Stratton engine.

I drove a tracked vehicle in the Army. There are road wheels which usually have no power to them, they just keep the track below the vehicle and keep the 2 other wheels in line with the track. Then there's the idler wheel which is at one end or the other and it too doesn't have power to it. Though it might have a tension arm on it to keep tension on the track. Then there's the drive wheel which usually has teeth on them in a sprocket type wheel. It drives the track. To steer it you would break one side while the other side kept going. Looks like fun. I'd like to see you make some Pykrete. It's a combination of sawdust and water. When mixed right it creates an ice brick that doesn't melt as fast as a regular ice block would melt. Could have fun making Lego like blocks to build temporary things.

Make your own ethanol free gas: fill 5 gallon can with 4 gallons gas. Add 1 gallon of water. Shake the can vigorously for 30 seconds. Set the can outside in freezing temps for 2 days. The water and alcohol will freeze on the bottom of the can. Pure ethenol free gas can then be poured into a separate can. Bring the frozen can indoors so it can be melted and poured out. In above freezing temps you just pump the water from the bottom of the can.

I would put 2A little bit further forward. That way, the 2 in the back will be all the way to the outside of the unit and tune the front will be just a little bit to the inside of your sled. That way, you'll be able to got it better. But you can also put a board to the 2 front ones. Just across the 2 front ones, then put a bolt through the front. Going down to those two fronts.When he turns those two front ones will guide the back end around whatever he turns around

@goatman38284 күн бұрын
Whatever you do, find ethanol free gas. Small engines still lack the ability to withstand the ethanol in the lines and carb. Also, add a big old inline fuel filter and a fuel shutoff valve. Any lawn and garden will have these. Those mini-excavators can do a lot more than people think. A bit on the slow side, but lightning fast compared to a shovel to dig a ditch.

First, you've done a fantastic job with Keiper. And I think you have shown that, even with a smart dog who picks up things quickly, it still requires time and patience to get the kind of responses you get with Keiper. You hear people complain about kids that are always into mischief, calling them juvenile delinquents, but, in my experience, its mostly parental delinquents that are the problem. Same for dogs. There really aren't any bad dogs, just lazy owner's. Now you need a battery operated/rechargeable fuel pumper so You don't have to lift the five-gallon gas can and tilt your body all weird to tank up. A gallon of water weighs 8 1/4 lbs, so I imagine five gallons of gas would be close to 35lbs. I know it's hardly ever full, but wouldn't it make it better if you built something like a fueling station for the dozer and quad? If you use gravity, still means you have to pick it up high. Besides, having a planned and to-purpose built station means you could put it where you could drive in with the car and trailer, unload, and swing back around. Maybe you could Integrate the fueling station with a parking shed for the dozer. Or make a replica, out of wood, of an old time antique looking gas pump, with a door in the back to put the 5 Gal can in and run the battery powered hose out to replace what would be the spout. Just the weird/unique kind of thing to carve and paint during those winter months.
