I must have skipped past something or not watched the right episode but i just cant understand how that can function as a dog house. Maybe if you wanted to put your dog in solitary confinement i guess. If the inner door latched from inside the house, the exterior had a dog flap for unrestricted animal access and the outer door was purely for your use and not for the dog to use, then it might make sense. Someone is going to need to explain this project because the math isn't adding up. It seems like a nonsensical design.

Wouldnt it have been better to put the lock in the interior door inside of the cabin for security reasons. Now anyone has full access to the inside of your cabin through the dog house.

very stupid use gas if wood have all around lot. lot better and warm and cheap use wood keep cabin warm and cooking. or buy cheap 120$ diesel heater lot cheapen use than GAS. and good warm cabin easy.

Aside from the noise, I wouldn't worry too much about the logging operation. I'm in the UP also and they're usually in and out pretty quickly (couple weeks). You probably know the benefits of opening the canopy and promoting staggered age classes of trees. You'll see lots more critters and an explosion of berries etc. I had a couple of areas clear cut and two years later those spots are 25 ft. high and thick with new growth. The money I made off of the harvest wasn't bad either.

Hi Ryan, you made me think about your cooling/freezing problem/challenge... Why don't you build in the opposite corner from the dog house, an old time freezer box. That you can access from both inside (fully insulated door) and from the outside. Where you can place one or to bucket with frozen water, and as the water thaws out you can just replace the buckets. You could insulate the "freezer" so when the springtime come around it will be slower to thaw. Perhaps the floor should a little spacing between each floorboard so excess water can escape.
