This is seriously in the top ten for the cleanest short bed fords Ive seen. The body is mostly perfect. Its a four wheel drive unit, all the interior is there, everything appears to work and the interior is in tact! Who could ask for much more from a early 90's ford? Most of these are rusted out or beat all to hell and back by now. This one just checks all the right boxes thats for sure. Alrighty, folks, do your thing in the comments below and lets see what you think.

Yes sir 💯 🇺🇸 all the new fords “the ones with the 1st Triton engines”Were made to break down so you would have to pay extra money at the dealership to fix the power stroke are a different story from 1994 they were basically in the experimental phase with those engines untill after the 6.0/6.4 after 2005/2015. the ones before hand where shity u would need to Delete a bunch of shit and put bigger heads/head studs and re do the oil Cooler cuz the factory ones where trash...

We would be working on them nonstop. It still amazes me how people don't understand this. My F150 2nd gen 2.7 will outlast the engine in this truck with way less maintenance. The problem with today's vehicles are the planned obsolescence that's engineered into them. Like 10 speed transmissions.

My grandma has an orange one (a ‘91, long bed, automatic) that used to be a work truck for the electrical company my grandpa worked at. My grandparents bought it in the early 2000s. Super fun truck to use. vinyl bench seat is really comfy. 4x4 is great in MT snow. Hers is super basic. No carpet or headliner, no ac or power anything. The radio is literally only a radio, no cassette player. Luckily it’s got the corner windows so you can cool off easier in the summer. She has a big topper on it so it’s great for hauling things. Solid and has overall been a very reliable truck. Barely any rust either.

Whoo I spent my teenagerhood with two of these. Dad had a 1989 XLT Lariat with the 4.9L and 5-speed, regular cab shorty. It was weird, because it had lots of features but crank windows. My buddy had a 1990 XLT Lariat, also same color, with the 5.0 auto. Both went through hell and still looked new when they were traded in.

The blue interior of my truck still looks almost brand new though. 288k miles in here now. Mine stars great on cold start up. But warm start ups it’s surges for a min. Wow this on doesn’t have a tack!?! The only thing that dose not work on mine is the AC. I’ve owned it 10 years now, paid $450 for it, and it’s been great!! I remember at the dealership in 1990 we had one we used to run parts or whatever. It was red with white in the middle and had the 5.0. We used to jump in that thing and it would be -20 and that gas pedal would be on the floor. It looked new when we were done with it and got our next new one but i feel sorry for whoever bought it. These were made between 1987 and 1991. Came right after the Bullnose (which is my personal favorite generation, my cousin had an '86 XLT Lariat) They were certainly workhorses and not many still left in this condition, which is in amazing shape to be sure! They were driven till the wheels fell off, quite literally. What a nice truck!! Ford still used that air idle sensor technology on the 4.6 in the crown victoria and it is definitely worrisome. The engine will hesitate on starting and idle and will sometimes lag while driving and it's especially alarming because you feel you're gonna stall on the freeway. You have to get the sensor replaced every so often. I don't know why they continued to use it. Its not a good system,, in my opinion.

Nice, I'm currently doing an engine swap on my 1988 F250 brick nose. Mine is optioned with the power windows/door locks, sliding rear window, and A/C like this one. It is an XLT Lariat as well. The only difference is mine is an extended cab/long bed powered with a 7.3 IDI diesel. I'm swapping the diesel for a rebuilt 7.3 IDI. My paint isn't as good as that, but it is just as rust free as this truck you featured. Mine spent all of its life in California near Death Valley. It is now on the east coast with me after I bought it 3 years ago from the family of the deceased original owner. I live outside Washington DC and we are expecting snow as well. My truck will NEVER see a drive in the snow as long as I own it. That being said it is parked in my driveway due to the snow.

I have an 87 lariat, short bed 4x4 with the manual hubs. Little bit rougher than yours, but I love it.

Nice truck.. I have its Cali 90 XLT 5.8 Brother in the same wedgewood blue stock aluminum reg cab short box dual tanks auto 4wd 105k... Mine has grey interior and a tach... They should have come with smoke machines to help tame vacuum leaks.

It would need quite a few small things to make it worthy of that title. But a clean daily driver, thats what she is now!

That's a nice looking truck. My dad had one similar to that when I was a kid. It was a long bed 2-tone black and silver with red interior. It had the 300 6 cylinder in it with a 5 speed manual. He ended up trading it in back in 2009 for the cash for clunkers deal on a Nissan Versa (worst car ever). I still miss that truck.
