one of the main things i'd say counts for the durability of a vehicle is it's repairability Sure, the Hylux's door stopped working after 5 slams, but you take a few screws off, give 20 minues of your time to fix the handle, screw the cover back on and bam! works like it's brand god damn new ...the cybertruck's door desintegrated on the first slam, that's not something you can repair with a flashlight, 20 minutes and a beer or two Even Top Gear's tests examplified not more so the durability of the hylux, but the REAPIRABILITY of one, it was completely dead several times, but a SINGLE mechanic with some rusty tools managed to get it back up and running after a bit of work

Agree 100% man! I had a stock Toyota Hilux when I was a senior in high school, bought it from my neighbor was was an old farmer who didn’t need it anymore only paid 800 bucks and helped his two son get up around 1500 square bails of hey, then he didn’t even want to take the 800 dollars but I insisted gave it to his wife behind his back Lol…. Hands down best truck I ever owned… But a drunk driver changed all that one night…. He hit me head on going around 60 mph in a Lincoln continental!! The driver and passenger were both ejected, the driver was paralyzed from the neck down, The passenger died two days later…. Luckily I was just banged and bruised up some.. Never really got over that one, made me sick man!!!
