I agree I love seeing the survivors. Pat has great content for sure. I've had 2 of these cars in my life One was white with black stripes and the 2nd was red with white Stripes. Both were 396 cars. I sold them and miss them. I did come across a camcorder video of my 2nd one from about 20 years ago. Check out this link to my video with my Red car. Even more fun than finding them and restoring them is driving the heck out of him and that's what I did with this car. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHvUpKOOmpWfetE

Wow! That car is so cool! I love it. I've got 1:64 scale models of the Chevelle in these colors: Red with white stripes. Dark Grey with Black stripes. Iced green with black stripes. Cranberry with black stripes. Cream colored all over. Black with white stripes. My favorite: I've got 3 favorites: Red with white. Iced green with black. And finally Cranberry with white stripes! Awesome, fantastic video!

This is an awesome find. My first car was a 1972 Chevelle SS Red with black stripes and a black vinyl top. Drove it through junior high and High school my dad and I restored it, unfortunately my family fell on hard times and I lost the car back in 2010...I've been trying to find it ever since but it's near impossible without a VIN number.

This is the 3rd of your video's in a row i have watched, love the video's.... Brings's up memories,,, when I was 17 (51 now) some friends and myself were given a 70 ss big block that had been completely taken apart as someones project that had lost interest and just wanted it gone. So we spent all our nights over the course of a summer putting her all back together. Watching your videos bring the memories flooding back which is extra sweet as Im the only one of the friends who worked on it still alive.... Something that strikes me is even then it seemed like an old car. Not old, but no longer made like that you know what I mean. But now today looking at these in the videos they seem no older then they did back then. What I mean is this generation truly seems ageless to me as Im sure they do to a great many out there.... Back then and I guess still today my preference is GM but over the years Ive learned to see the value of all classics... Im currently trying to talk my boss into letting me unbury a 1969 shelby gt350 that has been sitting in his garage for 25 years. His dad was orig owner and a big time car lover and it still shows from what i can see that he pampered and dearly loved that car as other then dust and empty boxes on it it still looks brand new. the son, my boss, a lawyer is not a car guy at all in any way, he even drives a prius which i think says it all. But he loved his dad and knows how that shelby was his pride and joy so he still has it just setting there for decades... In another video you spoke of how these people just love there cars and cant part with them which is how barn finds etc are born... Your bang on that theory I believe... Love the passion for what you do and try to instill in the owners of these tresures.. keep it up, good job!

My first car was a 1970 Chevy Nova SS 396. Burgundy with Blk vinyl top, Blk interior and Cragar wheels. Only two cars in my town I couldn't beat. A 426 Hemi Cuda and a 427 Corvette that a hot-as-Hell blonde owned. She had "If You Can Beat Me, You Can Eat Me" painted on the spoiler. Tried more than once to do just that... I was hungry! Anybody getting close to finishing their time machine yet? I wanna go back sooo bad! That was also the only car, except for the one I have now and I'm 65 y/o, that I never got a ticket with.

This is the type of muscle car you don't restore....Because of its originality, It's actually worth more the way it is right now ! A meticulous cleaning and that's it !....I wouldn't even worry about the rust area(s) which aren't bad to begin with. I've owned 3 awfully clean Chevelle SSs' in my time (2-1970s' and a 71') and the one drawback that all 3 of them had in common was the right-bottom portion of the back window where the moldings came together would leak water and start the trunk to rust. This one appeared to still be in great shape !....Did you make it out to the Lambrecht auction about 3 or 4 years ago ? I really wanted one of those big block Impalas' ! They weren't SSs', But Those that had Big-Blocks were all 396 turbo jets noted via the air cleaners and the "rally-flag" fender emblems.

twilight's last gleaming my brother and I walked to school every morning and we would sit in Lambrecht’s cars (the ones that were in town). The white 65 Impala SS 396 was my regular visit. It had a red interior and 3 miles on the odometer. It was heartbreaking when i saw that a tree limb had fallen on the roof years later. Same story on a 1969 chevelle ss396 that sat in a tree grove on the mechanic’s acreage outside of town. A couple of my parents’ former cars were sold on that auction.
