Survivor Ghost Island: Morgan Blindsided

I could not believe how many names were being thrown around this episode. Libby, Domenick, Wendell, Angela, and Morgan, who ended up getting voted out. This was probably a better blindside then Gonzalez’s, but Morgan was way more likable than Gonzalez, so idk. Make sure to subscribe for more survivor videos, it helps me out a lot :)

I really love James and Libby in this episode. James showed us how well he can read Dom. He would be a great strategic player. Libby played a good social game until now. Hopefully, both would go far in this season. They are now my favourite.

Yes, I do like them. My favorites though are Donathan and Domenick, but I think Dom is screwed, though he does have an idol. I loved this blindside, other then the fact that Donathan, and somewhat Wendell (I guess I liked him) were going to be completely on the outs.

I agree. He was the only one who saw through his act about the fake idol, and the possibility that he had a real idol. He was smart to think that way otherwise Dom with the idol and numbers would be hard to control.

I don't think the players realize that was James behind the scenes pulling all the strings to boot Morgan. Libby took all the heat with the "don't trust the cute blonde" comment Morgan threw at her. It was brilliantly played b/c nobody is likely to target him next. I'm liking the caliber of player this season. :)

I read that James just started watching survivor when he got casted, and isn't a super fan. I think an intelligent player who's not a super fan is one of the most dangerous type of players. He does not overplay with flashy moves, but is really calculating and practical. He can lay low while still build up a great resume for final tribal.

Laurel sucked at the puzzle playing a part in loosing the challenge and windell is a furniture designer so you would think that puzzle would be his expertise. For those reasons the tribe should have maybe even considered voting off one of them but there is a lot we dont see behind the cameras so I dont know.

yaknow, even if this season did nothing else all that well, the one thing it got VERY right was the music for reading the votes when someone was blindsided. it fit in more than the actual concept of Ghost Island itself with what the theme was supposed to be: bad decisions or even slight miscalculations coming back to haunt you. when the votes are read for blindsides this season, with each new vote you can hear in the chanting that unlucky person's bad decisions coming for them, if you will. beautifully done, compounded with not just a new leaving Tribal music, but the Cambodia (Second Chance)/ Kaoh Rong music. expert touch, as it suggests and then reinforces the intertwining of redemption and unfortunate decisions.

Donathan is probably not part in Libby’s narrative. We didnt even see him in the strategy behind the vote. I think this episode is a character build up for Libby, either because she would be voted out next or become a content player this season. But I think Libby would be voted out in the next tribals due to the fact when Donathan mentioned he would like to work with the likes of Laurel and James and he ended up being with them in the tribe swap. Its no coincidence its a strong alliance that Libby is not a part of.

Survivor Addict I know that James was being stubborn, but Libby could have fought harder to vote for Angela. It seems like Angela was going to be one of those people who will try to stay strong to her original tribe at all costs. Plus, Angela had strong ties to Chris. All in all, I don't see James' reasoning for wanting Morgan out over Angela. Also, they would be able to gain at least a tiny bit of trust with Dom, Wendell, and Morgan by voting with them.

I think it is more beneficial for Libby to persuade her original malolo tribemates to vote for Dom. If ever Dom plays his idol, Angela will still be voted out and Dom's idol will be flushed. If he will not play it, he will blindsided with his idol in his pocket. It is also beneficial for Libby, to save Morgan and vote for Dom or Wendell, in the long run. Anyways, maybe James saw it and persuade them to vote for Morgan instead. But, you have to give mad respect for Libby. She is playing and definitely true to not trust the cute blonde. :)

Recubs Recubs in James' full interview of that segment, he says that the 2 scenarios they saw were(I'm explaining a bit more in detail); a. Since it was a 4Naviti-4Malolo tribe after Chris is on GI + Malolos were down in numbers, for whenever merge comes it'll be very important for malolos to keep up their numbers to avoid a pagonging, it was possible that both sides will vote for a person on the other transplanted tribe causing a deadlock causing a rock draw. He thought they're avoiding this by lying about Angela, cos then they'll have an assured target to save at TC then they'll use the rumoured idol, causing whichever Malolo the Original Naviti voted for to go home. b. Keeping Dom and Voting out Morgan also made sense in the way that now its like 4Malolos - Dom&Wendell - Angela & Chris. No way in hell is Angela trusting Dom&Wendell after they voted her, so she's a solid number now to the Malolos. Also keeping two warring duos(4-2-2) over a solid triple alliance(4-3-1 or even 5-3 if Chris aligns with them) makes sense. Now they have a choice of which duo they want to go with on ahead if the malolo4 are as solid as they seem. Voting out Libby's potential ally seems to be an added bonus. Also if they had voted Dom out instead, they aren't as assured and informed of Wendell and Morgan's gameplay as they are of Dom. Plus, as long as Dom's there, Chris has a target on him first instead of turning on the malolos. To play out what you said, say Dom played the idol, Angela is gone. But now there's still another alliance in your tribe with a count so close to yours that'll it'll only take one person to flip. If Libby's hesitance was obvious to the other malolos, there was no way they would take that risk. Also Lizzy flipping and voting out Angela makes no sense to me!! Why be the bottom in a 4person alliance with a solid Dom/Wendell/Morgan when she could be top/bottom/middle/? with her original malolos cos they clearly didn't have a pecking order in their 4, they discussed everything together. Also personally I'm still not getting why Morgan would be such an asset to Libby as I'm seeing everywhere today. I could totally see kellyn and Libby bonding in a swap/merge, no need for her to commit so early, especially to someone with a solid alliance rather than someone on the outs. If Dom didn't play the idol and went home, they would have the added concern of Chris coming back w/ a possible advantage from GI. Atleast now they KNOW that they have a solid vote against Dom from Chris and against Chris from Dom. Takes the target off of them for a few tribals. Plus WAAAY TOO MANY people know/suspect about Dom's idol. There's no way he'll skate by tribals w/o having to use them. He's a very obvious threat he will be the target again eventually. Personally, not the right timing for Dom's blindside.

He would probably make a move to get Chris out if he played it correctly. And then there’s exile island. If old Naviti actually do stick together, then it’s up to the ghost island rock draw (I don’t see new Malolo deciding together who goes to ghost island). This is next time Naviti loses

Of all people, Chris had to pick the white rock damit! I wanted him gone so bad. It's terrible that Morgan got voted out early but she kind of threw Angela under the bus. She was actually telling the truth about not wanting to work with Chris. I'm glad Angela survived this tribal. I'm pretty sure Dom and Wendell would be on the outs next week (I like them both but so far their strategy/social skills suck). Angela just found out that she got 3 votes from her original Navitis and will tell Chris and possibility of joining forces with the Malolos. James doesn't trust Dom from the very beginning. Dom and Wendell might not want to work with the Malolos given they just voted out one of his allies though they have no choice. I love this show so much 😁 Off to bed now.

ZP Survivor looking back at this blindside, I think voting for Dom would have been a bigger move for the Malolos. If Dom plays his idol then Angela goes home. If he doesn't then he goes home w an idol in his pocket. But I'm happy Dom stayed. He bring so much to the show, I'd be sad to see one of the big characters leave.

ZP Survivor oooooh Michael?? Dudes that built are always the first to go if they even make the merge cos they're a immunity threat, plus there aren't enough built dudes this season to form a solid alliance that'll help them last. But he does have the idol now, hopefully he doesn't have to use it premerge, so there's potential there:) my picks where james and Wendell preseason and then I added Kellyn and Stephanie after premiere. All look pretty good now so we'll see how this goes. Donathan, don though he reminds me of Sandra. Not in outspokenness but def in likability. People like him so he'll be able to slip by. Dom I fear will overplay plus he'll be a strategic threat. He has the legacy advantage as well now, and I'm hoping he uses it all well and not get paranoid cos he's def entertaining to watch with all his fake idol and its fake stories. We've had SO MUCH Dom these 3eps I'm worried he's getting blindsided premerge.i want to see him play after the merge. I'm not exactly sure why I picked Wendell, it was a gut feeling. Everyone is giving credit to James. And he pulled a great move. That being said,lets not forget that Chris was the initial person to pull Malolo aside and tell them about Dom's idol. That's what put the seeds of motion in James's head. So even with Chris at GI,he had influence over this vote. Chris may be brash,but his instincts are killer. So kudos to James for putting this together,but Chris deserves credit for planting the seeds in Malolos heads. Because once Dom showed them the fake idol,they knew Chris was telling the truth.

Kyle Roberts personally I don't think Chris gets credit. I mean, set the scene. 5Naviti(fractured; 3-2; DWM - C&A) 4Malolo(solid; unless they find a crack in Naviti AND a solid place to slide in) Right of the bat as they reached camp, terrible social play by Chris, even before he's evaluated the Malolo4 bonds, even b4 they lost the immunity (gotta admit this is a bit on the fence of pro/con cos in hindsight this worked out since he went to GI) BUT he already exposed that there was a crack in their 5 resulting in M4 feeling secure and giving them a breather to suss out the other bonds between the N5. Anyway I get why he did that, he was paranoid that Dom would turn M4 against him so he turned them against Dom first by telling them about the idol. But by the look on their faces, it seems to range between 'oh' 'he's paranoid' and 'good deflection' SO now they know Chris is against Dom. At this point they buy/don't buy the idol theory but KNOW Chris and Dom are gunning for each other. KNOW Angela is his ally. KNOW that Chris has been trying to get Dom out since Day1 since he himself told them that so they know if he goes after someone he'll keep trying until the other one is gone, which is dangerous for the M4. Uptil this point Dom hasn't done anything too sketchy, Morgan is trying to sway Libby over. The only aggressive one so far has been Chris. M4 still have their choices open. They lose Immunity challenge. Chris goes to GI. Angela, perceived as Chris' right hand, even though she didn't vote the way Chris wanted, seemed the obvious target as it would weaken a brash outspoken and obvious threat. BUT THEN THE DECIDING FACTOR CAME INTO PLAY. It wasn't Chris' planted seeds but Dom's paranoia that nailed the Morgan vote in. Even if Chris hadn't pulled them aside in the start, Dom's paranoia and his weird obsession in showing off his fake idol, esp. when Chris was safe in GI, he would've ended up showing the Malolo4 his fake idol with his fake story just in case Chris had got to them first and they were planning on voting him out because of that, so he would've wanted to clear his name for this tribal. Had Dom been the one voted out, I would've given some credit to Chris cos he was the instigator. But Morgan being voted out, giving Malolos a 4-2-2 power position, with now both Chris and Dom in trouble considering the Malolos are maximising on their rivalry by using their votes against each other. So if you're crediting Chris this, his own downfall unless a swap comes quickly, cos now it looks like 6-2 with Chris in the bottom of the alliance with Dom & Wendell on the outs (because the Malolos don't trust Dom) instead as the leader if they had voted Naviti strong. This was ALL MALOLO. James, to be precise, since he was the one who pitched the actual strategy in the ep.

Eram A. Chris was the ultimate catalyst for all this. Doesn't matter if you believe it or not. Had Chris not even brought up Dom to Malolo,it's quite likely Malolo doesnt put the 2 and 2 together. And Morgan stays in the game. They realized Chris was on to something. Chris talked to James about Dom. You cannot give James all the credit, when the idea was put into his head by Chris. It was not all Malolo. It was originally Chris's plan. James just reinforced it when he found out Dom was bluffing and lying. Don't try bullshitting me,dude. Give credit where it's due.

Kyle Roberts Catalyst. Exactly. Something that sped up an ongoing process. Dom's and Chris' potential rivalry was apparent 10 mins into the game when Dom questioned Chris' decision in pulling the plug, surely the Malolos must have wondered how that had panned out for them, I mean they're out there 24/7, they must've considered that scenario and the potential rift to capitalise on after the merge. if you actually look close enough in the first half of the ep, it def seemed that Chris was gearing up to be the boot if they went into tribal, they focused on a lot of his negative aspects, both Libby and Angela talking negatively about him/his social game in their confessional....an edit whoever's getting voted out that night usually gets. Then he ends up pulling the white Rock safe from tribal. I think even w/o chris' input Dom would've been in trouble. So many people in their secret scenes and first impressions so far have deemed him untrustworthy or sketchy. I mean he has tried to sell his fake idol twice and both haven't bought it. Ergo Dom's a sketchy person in general. So u saying they wouldn't put 2 and 2 together is just ignorant esp. w/ his bs story and his shitty idol(it's just a fucking shell on a ratty twine ffs nobody would buy that even chris) plus dude has a ~150 IQ. Give him some perception credit. So yes Morgan would still be going considering they needed to break up the big alliance of 3 on that tribe esp. with GI in play. If they lose next challenge and Malolos draw white, they'll be down in numbers, the last thing they want is 3 people(dom/Wendell/Morgan) voting the same. All Chris' action really did was take the target off Dom because the manolos were afraid hes lying to them about angela and he'd play the idol , so they went for the safer Morgan vote since they needed Wendell's strength. I mean Chris played his part in the whole mess but it's nowhere near as significant as you're claiming. Also def not "Chris' plan". "Chris' Plan" from the beginning has been to vote out Dom. Had the Malolos chosen Dom as their target to flush out his idol, then the entire credit would've been Chris' which he orchestrated using the Malolos. But the boot Morgan is a)Not "Chris' plan's" target b) not helping reinforce Chris' position in the tribe even in a roundabout way. Tl;dr: so when I said the plan was 'all malolo' I implied this plan was fool proof for the Malolos because Morgan being the boot helped the Malolos bcos even if one of them draws the white rock there are two duos they can choose from now. If chris' plan worked and Dom had been out, who knows which malolo Chris would've targeted next. The way the Malolos planned Morgan's blindside they still have the power position in the tribe unless Chris/Angela miraculously align with Dom/Wendell. This is way too lengthy and I've probably said more than I intended to on this topic bcos I still truly am trying to figure out why Chris should be credited for this one. Especially since it doesn't help his game at all. Genuinely, please clue me in. You probably think I'm trying to bullshit you with longass answers but I'm just wordy. I tried to be as precise as I could. I AM TRYING to give credit where it's due, and I think the numbers(cold hard facts and not just 'what I believe'), at present, where the tribe dynamic stands, this will benifit James and the Malolos until the next eventual swap.

MLG Taco she would of lost the trust of the original Malolo tribe if she voted Angela. She trusted them more than Wendell and Domenick, so that might be what made her mind up.

Libby had a connection with Morgan and her old tribe. She wasn’t perceived as a threat, so she hurt herself in voting Morgan out. On the other hand, she voted out someone outside her tribe which cemented the trust of her old tribemates. There were benefits ands hurdles to this.

The swap effed Libby up for sure, and basically any option would have made her a target. It came down to whether she wanted longevity or make a move - and she felt it was too early to jump ship just yet. She put in perspective this is day 9 and not day 20. And her old tribemates may have made her feel in a more comfortable position than if she betrayed them and went with the original opposing tribe. Laurel, Donathan, and James seemed like less drama to deal with down the road. Plus, if she flipped, her old tribe will distrust her - making matters worse.
