The thick black smoke is what they were jumping from. Majority of deaths in fires don't actually come from being burned alive, they pass out and die from asphyxiation only to be burned while already dead/unconscious.

I think the heat was a major factor and the fact that they knew there was no other option but to take control and end their lives quickly. It was the most heartbreaking sight I've ever seen and I agree - May their beautiful souls rest in peace.

@@johnnynbk thats that jumped didnt land whole. They exploded out from the impact. Bone fragments and body parts went flying. One guy on he ground was hit in the eye with a price of femur bone from a jumper when they hit the floor it shot out and hit him in the eye.

Graciella Larrosa some people aren’t able to filter sounds due to auditory processing disorders. It’s common in older age, those with hearing loss and even people with PTSD. I know as a combat PTSD sufferer I struggle to sort combined sounds that aren’t mixed well (and this definitely was not mixed well; the levels were horribly off with the music being much more prominent than the dialog). Telling someone to ignore it in those circumstances is like saying “don’t blink.” Don’t be so condescending and rude. You don’t know. It’s legitimate feedback and an issue that can easily be changed by the video creator.

He was allowed to escape as were many others. As far as I know that was part of the plan. Heading high up on the buildings was done deliberately to allow time and avenues for people to escape. They could have hit much lower bringing the buildings down almost immediately killing everyone inside because of all the extra weight on top of the damaged sections.
