Finally fellow Nicaragua enjoyer. I like Gabon more, but Nicarague imo is more chaotic mess and funny too. The major issue is that it's one of the worst edited season ever - purpling of many players, ultra purpling of Kelly, some of the confessionals or scenes were just obviously badly edited into one making it feel like staged. And the worst: tricking Kelly into bringing only sun dress and bikini and then production really wanting to destroy her when she can't take it anymore

Just finished my rewatch in s44, (i considered it a mid-tier season) and the season was just sooo uninteresting. Even the well-liked Tika 3 doesn't enjoy me as much compared to my live watch. it also feels like s44 is the farthest from feeling Survivor on a Survivor season (if this makes sense)

@@realitykenzies Yam Yam was the only truely good thing about that season. That and a few idol plays. But so many people wasted opportunities to take down the Tika 3. Most of the players were just blind to them dominating the game and wasted perfect chances to do something. The only move against them was at final 4. They also never flip on eachother which is good for them but boring to watch. And yes I was rooting for Yam Yam and I love him to death but it was also the most predictable outcome as he was an obvious winner(Although most winners these days are clear). There was also no one else to root for. Good seasons have likable underdogs and/or great antagonists, this season has neither. The vote offs themselves were slow, the Helen boot, Claire boot, Josh boot, the awful Matt boot, Jaime boot, Lauren boot, are all pretty boring and even some of the other ones aren’t that great. No special episodes either when almost every season has at least one truly fantastic episode. But the worst part about it is how hyped it was, with Jeff calling it one of the greatest seasons of all time only for me and probably many others to be disappointed. While he’s entitled to his own opinions, it still let me down. I would still put the season above One World but other then that I agree with merenian’s thoughts on it.

I actually really like Ghost Island. Not because it's a good cast, but because there's such a hilarious story to it. Chris Noble of all people noticing the threat Dom and Wendell posed, sinking his entire game to try and take them out, only to not play his two-round idol that would've sent one of them home is the funniest storyline in Survivor history. You have anyone remotely capable of coming after Dom and Wendell going post-swap/early merge, with all of the fodder wondering why the hell they can't take out Dom and Wendell once they obtain total control. It's so funny in how bad the gameplay is, and for that reason I love it.

Themed islands shouldn't be brought back to survivor. They always eat into players screen time (SAME WITH JOURNEYS SURVIVOR 41+) causing the casts to feel hallow. But i wouldn't mind themed casts again many seasons like Cagayan, David v Goliath, San Juan Del Sur, have all been strong cast entries, maybe there's something to it being a theme idk. But those themes can boost publicity for a season without adding some bullshit island to kill time.

Lol, Every time you announced a ranking and it wasn't 41 I was astounded. IMO 41 is the worst season of Survivor I have ever watched (including foreign seasons) . The cast sucked, the focus on twists sucked and the edit sucked. I do appreciate that you have opinions that are different from the standard though. It is very cool to hear opinions that are unique compared to the conscientious of the fans.

the cast part isn't true, the cast is easily the best part of the season and one of the best of the new era. I found most of the premerge boots to be pretty interesting along with the others. 41 gets too much hate. The twists are bad but the cast and gameplay makes up for it. It's not even particularly close to the worst season.

It's a depressing season in some ways, but I really do feel that the personalities carry it very well. I really do agree and appreciate your take on Redemption Island. It's like a rollercoaster, you know how it ends, but it takes some bizzare twists and turns to get there.

Just based on gameplay redemption island is the worst season in the shows history hands down. I get that it’s interesting to see boston Rob steam roll simply because it had never been done before (similar to seeing ulong get decimated in Palau, it was weird to see a rare event like that happen).. but I believe this is the worst group of players to ever be assembled. Besides Boston Rob I don’t think a single other person played what could be called a “good” game with over half the cast being actively bad players with no potential at all.

I definitely agree with you as a man. It's easier to navigate through these things, no need to sugarcote it. That said, the most important thing to note is you can think whatever you want on a season with icky moments (not just sexual assault stuff, but also other shit like the Varner-Zeke stuff) as long as you know these moments are wrong and shouldn't happen. I am glad that these moments are behind us, and that production has learned from them, even if way later than it should have (I'm looking at you, IotI!!) and even these seasons have some good moments, not that it justifies any of their awful ones ofc. Regardless, BLM here clearly knows how bad these moments are and all of these seasons are like in the bottom 10, some are at bottom five really due to these moments. People have different experiences and things they can and can't navigate through. As long as you respect each other and know what's right and wrong, imo it's fine to think whatever. The patriarchy and it's grasp is awful to women, that's true, but that also doesn't mean that enjoying Thailand/IotI over The Australian Outback means disrespecting women. My cousin is a woman and she loved IotI. That doesn't mean your experience and opinions are invalid, they very much are especially as a woman who has to deal with traumatic men, in a way that I, a man, don't deal with. Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to say that at the end of the day, liking any given season even if it has icky moments doesn't neccesarily means anyone who likes it is a bad person/potential predator, as long as they know that said moments are wrong and shouldn't happen again.

41 is hands down the concensus worst new era season. I think 43 has the pretty agreed upon worst winner, but there are other aspects of it that bring it up. For me personally 44 is in contention for the worst season but I think the vast majority of fans would say 41

From what I’ve seen, the general consensus is that there are 3 tiers of new era seasons: - 45 and 46 are the two best ones - 42, 43, and 44 are all in the same tier, and worse than the two above - 41 is pretty definitively the worst of the bunch

There is no way 43 is a better season than 41. 41 has worst twists, but overall I find the cast way more interesting than 43’s. 43 is extremely top heavy, 41’s premerge boots actually were pretty memorable to me. Also the ending of 43 doesn’t help its case at all. I can tell you the majority of super fans think 43 is the worst.

Thanks again for another great video! Some thoughts: -I agree that AO is the worst season, and I have All-Stars ranked as the second worst season. So good on ranking those as the worst and third worst seasons! -This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would have Island of the Idols a few spots higher since I do enjoy the pre-merge episodes and finale episode. I do think that it's a better season than 44 and One World. -I can understand not liking Ghost Island, but I think that you underrate it here. It actually has a very good cast; the problem is that most of the interesting players are taken out in the pre-merge. That may have hurt the season later on, but it actually did make for a very good pre-merge. The merge episode and finale episodes are also excellent. Even with most of the post-merge of that season being boring I think that it deserves a bit more love. -I actually do like Redemption Island more than most people do, but it should not be above Ghost Island, Caramoan, and Game Changers. -I am glad that you recognize that 44 is not good! Outside of a great premiere episode that season was awful. I am not sure exactly why Probst seemed to be high on that season before it aired, though I guess that it was because of the Tika 3. -Palau below Cook Islands is just wrong. I really enjoy the story in Palau, though seeing Koror have to turn on each other in the last few episodes was a lot more interesting than the decimation of Ulong that happened in the pre-,merge. -I am glad that we agree that 41 is the best season of the 41-44 stretch, and that 42 was overrated by the fanbase. But I do think that you overrate 41 in this case. It should not be above Palau., Game Changers, Fiji, and Gabon. -It's nice to see that you recognize that HHH is a good season despite the controversy at the end, but I would have it a few spots higher. -It's nice to see that you're not as high on Cambodia as much of the fanbase is, though I think that you still overrate it here. It's easily a bottom half season to me. -I am glad to see the love for Nicaragua, South Pacific, and Worlds Apart. -It's great to see Millennials vs. Gen X in the top 10! -Winners at War should not be this high. I understand wanting to view it as a celebration of the show and not a regular season, but the fact is that it's really not that good. There are so many other seasons that are simply better. But I do agree that the Tony win is extremely satisfying. -I don't agree with SJDS being as high as it is. The last three episodes are terrific, but it had been such a slog up to that point that I can't see it as a top half season. -I know that it is an extremely popular season, but I think that David vs. Goliath is way overrated. Outside of Angelina and Alison I feel like the cast is actually pretty mediocre, and I don't think that the season is that fun to watch outside of the stretch from the John boot through the Gabby boot.

Unpopular opinion. Heroes vs Villain's is a bottom tier season. Heroes is a all time bad tribe that just feels ugly to watch, with half the heroes being whiney and jerks. Villain's is a good tribe until rob is out. Russell isnt anywhere as interesting as his first season, as he has gone full jerk, and learned nothing from his first season. Sandra is a boring winner who failed to get what she wanted the whole season and kinda just lucked her way to a win.
